Moonbow Gearskin
I just got back from trying the new Moonbow Gearskin on an overnight. This "pack" worked well for me and was very comfortable but the best thing was that it knocked 3 POUNDS off of my pack weight. I was a little unsure about it so I went to the Gathering to see for myself and decided to buy one while there (that way Jonathan could do all the measuring). Anyways this was my first test - Swift Run Gap to Bear Fence Hut on the AT and back - about 9 miles each way - this pack was comfortable all the way - no sore shoulders and barely noticed it on my back carrying my usual winter weight of about 35 pounds. I rarely endorse anything but this "pack" has earned my good words about it for trail hiking. Note the Gearskin is not really a good choice for non-trail hiking / bushwhacking but most of my hiking lately has been trail hiking so this system works for me. See Moonbow Gear

Great Idea, But Why Don't More People Go For It?
I think Sgt.Rock got one of those a while ago but I don't think I ever read a post from him about it.

I dig those Dand Design harness systems packs that are similar but hold stuffsacks. Your pack will be as big as your stuffsack...going on a long hike, take a large stuffsack...going on a short hike, take a smaller stuffsack and cinch the harness system down to fit it.

Too bad that pack idea never really took off.

Thumbs up
I got one myself. Tested it with different set ups. Getting used to packing it takes some practice as warned, but worked out well on the hikes I've done with it. Could have a bit more padding in the waistbelt IMHO.

Sure like loosing the weight too.

Great to hear. I sent them my check a week ago and should get it by the end of Jan. Folks, you actually have to send them an outline sketch of your body from neck to hips along with girth measurements at each major area of the body. No, not that girth measurement. Anyway, how accurate is that.

I'm glad to hear the report and am excited to get mine.
