yes my sobe friends, yours truly has returned and with a passing grade,,, paramedic medic i am,, done i tell you done, let the trails open wide for myself and my packafter just finishing schoool a mere 4 days ago i want out in to the wilderness, aloft i went, to the grand canyon,(south rim)for a two day trip with the wife of course, well lets start, the drive took 7 hours,,, not (bad),, on the way up got cought in a snow storm loved it wanted more untill we got theere and they said mather camp ground was closed, so we asked where there was one open, there wasn't we asked the small man why not (now here is something you don't do, never ask a short, dark green dressed man, why are there no more camps open he dosen't like it, or you)so we went to bright angle lodge,,, first mistake, get this 50 dollers a room not bad, no toliet,bath or t.v. 66 dollers just the toliet, and bed(had two but that in there) 75 dollers toliet, bath no shower,,,, and 88 dollers toliet, bath, and tv. come on ( i'm all for keeping the parks funded but damn)plus the park enter fee plus car fee, this was going to be a last minute fun trip, not yet well we get a room, we want food, so we go to the food court, order 2 bugers two fries and 2 cokes,, guess how much 22.50\ #&%!$ that,, i asked if i could get a double cheeseand he said they DIDN'T DO THAT HERE,,,,what the hell are you talking about is food police under the counter, we left, went back to our room fire up the stove(stove not joint)and cooked our own, got up the next day set up base camp and had a great day,,,,, the south rim trail was good but i was not blown away buy the grand canyon,is this odd,, the river gorge in oregon was much more thrilling, maybe because you could not go down in the cayon the trail where closed , has this happened to anyone else, on a trip i feel so bad about it, well this glass of wine is geet lowe so thanks foe here me #&%!$ and will be back on weekly (IF ANYONE REMENBERS OR CARE),,,,,,,,,,,
P.S. MOVING TO PENNSYIVANIA in three weeks any backpackers out there would like to meet ya, show me some trails,,,,,, later nomad1

You're not alone with those thoughts of the rim. You can stand there all friggin' day and it doesn't get any better than the first 10 seconds there. You gotta get down in the chasm! $22 for burgers!?!? Dang! Oh, good job with paramedic training!

moving to lancaster P.A.. my wifea contract start on the 27 of january we should be there about 6 months,,, so if any one wants to show us the trails lead on friend, we have to go home to arkansas four about 2 weeks to see friend and family,,,then we of the lancaster,,,,(miss your witt dirty old man,,,ya #&%!$,,,, hahahaha liz glad to see you still on board well i have on more outing before we leave on the 5/6/7 of january don't know where to go canyon lands or mt.zion can't find anyone to go with me few backpackers here has anyone heard of a wiggy's sleeping bag bought one very nice 0 degree, a little bulky,,,,only 4 lbs,,,, anyone had one,,,,

The locals will be quick to correct you if said incorrectly, I can assure you.

Hey Jerbear! Hope you are doing great. Not the same Nomad from Portland. I saw him and Meerkat back in Nov. They are still hiking, but not on the board anymore. Seasons change, so to speak.
