Seems like every trip gets sidetracked by something....so; I have thrown down the gauntlet. I go on five trips by tax day or I sell it all on ebay. I am serious. If I can't get out I should give up and look for another hobby. This rant could yield some really good and rarely used stuff into your gear closets.

Not a question of desire. More a matter of commitments. I have packed my gear on three occasions since late September and have gone NOWHERE.

Like the Troll said, go solo. That is why some of us do go solo at times. It's not cause we're antisocial. We just go anyway cause nobody else can.

I know that feeling!
Last year I had the bag packed for MT'palooza, and things went in the toilet a work and I had to cancel. Gaaawwd I hated to do that. This year I have at least three trips planned, and I am going to do them. I want 30 nights in the bag this year, will see how it stacks up.

Good luck!

I know how you feel. I have a grand total of three bag nights this year. Two on the trail and one in a camp ground. Sometimes it just makes you want to throw your hands up.

I had a trip planned for September that I was really looking forward to. Got a huge project dumped on me at work, car trouble and some family illnesses all conspired against me. I had to cancel the trip.

I will just wait it out. Situations change and one day I will have plenty of time to backpack. Until then I will just get the overnighters every once in awhile and the long trip in September when it works out.

The good thing is it makes every trip special. I actually went on an overnight this weekend. It was great. Trip report later.

Wait!! Used Gear Sale??
Don't you men know that S-A-L-E is a four letter word..I'll fight for dibs, esp if a good tent or down bag is part of the action -

Seriously, hang in there..what state are you in? Any chance you can do one bag night with us in Arkansas this weekend on the BRT?

I haven't been on a trip since the Montanapalooza trip in July due to school and work committments, but I've got my priorities "re-arranged" now, and plan to get in a bunch more trips, starting with the BRT and then Ocala in early Feb..and then maybe the PNW.

Keep looking on here, there's 'nuff TT-ers all over this great country of ours that you should be able to find a trip near you!

Good luck!!

I don't know searcher. You may not be made of the right stuff if you'd sell your gear so easily.

;-)

I don't get out as often as I'd like. Kids, work etc. You know how it is. BUT, having my gear makes it possible for me to go on a moments notice and actually provides some motivation.

I agree with the others, consider solo. That is how I make many of my one or two nighters at the last minute. Depending or requiring others for those trips makes it unlikely that they will happen. If a family member worries, go someplace close, take a cell phone etc.
