Solo tent purchase “I am getting back into the backcountry after many years hiatis. I need advice on a superior 3-4 season solo tent. Must be light, of course, and have some room to manuver around. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!” 6:25:10 AM 12/27/02 “If money doesn't matter the Hilleberg Akto is tough to beat. It's $340, but weighs less than 3 pounds is well made and tough. If I was going to buy a 4 season solo tent, I won't buy any other.” 6:40:07 AM 12/27/02 “i use a hilleberg akto. more than enough space to move around and a vestibule that will hold as much gear as you can carry. it weighs less than 3 pounds. the hilleberg nallo 2 would be a great one person and two if necessary. it weighs less than 4 pounds. on a less expensive note, some one here has a sierra designs lightyear for sale. they weigh around three pounds too but are really 4 season.” 6:43:59 AM 12/27/02 “i meant are NOT really 4 season on the lightyear.” 6:45:13 AM 12/27/02 “Sweet deal on the light year. sierra trading post has a killer deal on the ultra light year which is a lighter, upscale model. At only $208, I'm tempted(as if I need another tent).” 6:54:47 AM 12/27/02 “where are you going to be useing your tent for the 4 season purpose?” 4:08:57 PM 12/27/02 Help on Solo Tent “I would be using the tent in Appalachian Mtns winter camping for the 4 season. Mostly 2-3k ft elevations and 20 degree weather.” 10:02:37 AM 12/28/02 10:18:29 AM 12/28/02 “I have an Integral Designs MK1 Lite - great tent for us people under 6'. I'm thinking of buying an ID Sola bivy for summer when I don't spend such long nights in the tent.” 11:24:33 AM 12/28/02
