I was out In some private property in bainbridge ohio. And i was doing a little hikeing aroung through the property and the Sate forest connected with it. The weather was nice on Sunday, and monday. but then it started to rain all night long on tuesday. It rained for like 5 hours before it turned to ice. The ground became saturated and my tent pegs failed. The big plastic yellow kind. They were even double staked. They kept slipping right out. I was tarping it so that was a huge problem. the natural made A-frame fell right on me and It sucked. I was glad I made a ranger roll out of a military poncho the early that night. which was also under the trap because of this storm. So I just cut up the tarps lined and tossed it aside and continued to sleep. then after waking up The 1/2inch of rain that fell had frozen me to the ground and my ponch was just a big sheet of Ice. It was almost funny, almost. I decided to bail early and go home at 3:30 on christmas eve. but it was still fun all in all. I was just glad I base camped with a close hike to my grandmas.
