There is also an afternoon off on Tuesday.

I've never wanted to go to NYC, but I'll take advantage of the trip for a meeting. Been to Chicago, Boston, New Orleans, worked in San Francisco, lived in Oakland, Houston, Dallas, worked at 5th and K NW in D.C. Had a gun pulled on my once there and that was while I was in high school. Learned to drive in the D.C. area, too. I didn't just fall off of a turnip truck. ;-)”

Outside the Subic Bay there was a seafood place run by a retired Navy Chief. Best item on the menu was "Hunk of Fish". White filet, leeks or something like that, steamed in a banana leaf.

The P.I. was pretty scary while I was there, the Navy wouldn't let us travel much in country. Riding a bus from Bagio to Clark AFB I noticed the driver looking very nervous. Looked at the vehicle in front of us, and I got nervous too. Open bed truck with about twenty guys, all wearing red bandanas and such, carrying rifles.

Too bad, it is a very beautiful country, and most of the people love Americans. However, enough hate us so passionately that it can be pretty scary if you stand out as an American.”
