Awe, these poor, poor terrorists are completely not at fault. I had no idea things were so bad for them. I don't blame them a bit for being terrorists. Maybe we could plan some Friday execusions in the soccor stadium to remind them of the good old days? (sarcasm) Why does it seem like the Muslims all accross the world have such a hard time dealing with life?” 6:44:01 AM 6/24/06 “So, today I'm cooking Afgani...Beef Sambosa's served with Yogurt sauce, Mantus with Qorma-e-Zardak ( basically a carrot stew) and yogurt sauce then Spinach stuffed Aushok served with Yogurt Sauce (see a pattern here? LOL) and Meat and/or Korma Sauce...if everyone stuck to cooking instead of fighting the world would, er, weigh more!” 7:59:13 AM 6/24/06 “I made curried rice last night -it didn't stick.” 9:55:35 AM 6/24/06 “Dang! The problem with our country is that they down allow citizen's to own and carry that kind of fishing equipment.” 11:06:58 AM 6/29/06 “WHAT DO YOU MEAN PED? We can't....okay look Ped we were hiking last weekend in ( you pick the state as long as it isn't South Carolina or Georgia)...K?” 12:46:13 PM 6/29/06 “LOL! Think how many fish we could get out of the great lakes if they stopped infringing on our second amendment rights to own bomber planes.” 12:55:21 PM 6/29/06 “I thought I was back in Oklahoma for a couple of minutes. We didn't have RPG's so we used dynamite.” 2:06:50 PM 6/29/06 “T-N-T, oy, oy, oy !!! Worked great!” 2:16:50 PM 6/29/06 “I knew an old boy that was raised in the heart of Kentucky and when he was a kid they used on old WWII crank phone for fishing by dangling wires into the water and cranking the phone up for a charge.” 2:18:30 PM 6/29/06 “OTTAWA, Canada (Reuters) -- Canadian troops fighting Taliban militants in Afghanistan have stumbled across an unexpected and potent enemy -- almost impenetrable forests of marijuana plants 10 feet tall. General Rick Hillier, chief of the Canadian defense staff, said Thursday that Taliban fighters were using the forests as cover. In response, the crew of at least one armored car had camouflaged their vehicle with marijuana. "The challenge is that marijuana plants absorb energy, heat very readily. It's very difficult to penetrate with thermal devices. ... And as a result you really have to be careful that the Taliban don't dodge in and out of those marijuana forests," he said in a speech in Ottawa, Canada. "We tried burning them with white phosphorous -- it didn't work. We tried burning them with diesel -- it didn't work. The plants are so full of water right now ... that we simply couldn't burn them," he said. Even successful incineration had its drawbacks. "A couple of brown plants on the edges of some of those [forests] did catch on fire. But a section of soldiers that was downwind from that had some ill effects and decided that was probably not the right course of action," Hiller said dryly. One soldier told him later: "Sir, three years ago before I joined the army, I never thought I'd say 'That damn marijuana'." http://edition.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americas/10/12/canada.troops.marijuana.reut/index.html” 6:55:15 PM 10/15/06 “Photo: http://news.yahoo.com/photo/061013/photos_od/2006_10_13t112049_450x321_us_marijuana;_ylt=AmNJWFHjCrBxHFT95wyvqKkZ.3QA;_ylu=X3oDMTA3bGk2OHYzBHNlYwN0bXA- last edited: 10/15/06 7:08:10 PM” 7:07:20 PM 10/15/06 “You nice peeps will just have to bear with poor dim violin. He can't seen to understand why FUEGO should be used.” 7:12:26 PM 10/15/06 “I took this as more humorous stuff that just happened to be in a war zone. Gonna give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.” 7:15:34 PM 10/15/06 “Really, Stovey, it would do you some good.” 7:17:04 PM 10/15/06 “Why should fuego be used here Stovey? Is this politics or religion? dumbass.” 7:26:58 PM 10/15/06 “Ha Ha. Dumba$$ violin can't understand Fuego. [VBG]” 8:03:10 PM 10/15/06 “PESHAWAR, Pakistan -- Two months ago, Pakistan's president, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, triumphantly announced a peace pact with Islamic extremists in the North Waziristan tribal district near the Afghan border, saying he hoped it would become a model for curbing domestic Islamic militancy and cross-border insurgent attacks in Afghanistan. Today that model lies in shreds. Northwestern Pakistan's fragile political peace has been shattered by two devastating attacks: a government missile strike that killed 82 people at an Islamic school in the Bajaur tribal district on Oct. 30, and a retaliatory suicide bombing Wednesday that killed 42 army recruits at a training camp in the Malakand tribal district. The missile strike was based on U.S. intelligence reports that the school was being used as a training site for Islamic insurgents, who have found sanctuary across the semi-autonomous tribal areas where Osama bin Laden and other al-Qaeda figures may also be hiding. Now, officials are predicting a new wave of violence, as anti-government anger spreads and religious extremists call for holy war against the Pakistani military and Western forces fighting in Afghanistan. "This is a disaster. We all recognize the gravity of the situation," said a senior military official in this northwestern provincial capital, speaking on condition of anonymity. "It's a nightmare to have an army being attacked on its own soil and by its own people." After the two incidents, he added, "the doors to peaceful negotiated settlements are closed. I am afraid we are on a war course in the tribal areas." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/10/AR2006111001785_pf.html last edited: 11/13/06 1:43:18 PM” 1:38:35 PM 11/13/06 “WOW...so the Islamo Fascists will not respect agreements? WHAT A SHOCKER!!!!! I bet if you libbies go over there and ask them to FEEEL with you ....they will agree. More like your head will be rolling across a soccer field as they laugh at the wussie Americans.” 1:41:13 PM 11/13/06 1:42:45 PM 11/13/06 “Try reading the article XL - you might not look so foolish.” 1:44:18 PM 11/13/06 “LOL..PBS???? Yeah real neutral reporting. Look it says the same thing, "This area is impossible to control" Well guess what V baby, it was controlled at one time by Alexander the Great. Want to know how? When he first went in there he tried (by the way like we "tried to control the Yugoslavian areas) with friendship. Didn't work he found the only effective way was to TOTALLY DESTROY EVERYTHING. The reason Yugoslavia fell apart after Tito's death was that it had been ruled at the end of a T-34 tank barrel. Same in Afghanistan. If you rule with an iron fist it will work. If the Taliban takes an area. So sad, you're dead. But our foriegn affairs are so busy trying to run the war like it is a business league. We want unidentified guerillas treated like uniformed soldiers, we want to show them how NICE AND TOUCHY FEELY WE CAN BE. They will laugh at us, and load up another airplane for the US. So how do we deal with them? Do we just let another highrise go down...this time say, "Ay yup its from Afghanistan I guess they win."” 1:58:10 PM 11/13/06 “Kill 'em all has always been an extremely effective approach, especially in guerilla warfare. I mean, look at Vietnam. Worked like a charm!” 2:05:18 PM 11/13/06 “Running Gun Blues I count the corpses on my left, I find I'm not so tidy So I better get away, better make it today I've cut twenty-three down since Friday But I can't control it, my face is drawn My instinct still emotes it I slash them cold, I kill them dead I broke the gooks, I cracked their heads I'll bomb them out from under the beds But now I've got the running gun blues It seems the peacefuls stopped the war Left generals squashed and stifled But I'll slip out again tonight Cause they haven't taken back my rifle For I promote oblivion And I'll plug a few civilians I'll slash them cold, I'll kill them dead I'll break them gooks, I'll crack their heads I'll slice them till they're running red But now I've got the running gun blues last edited: 11/13/06 8:14:51 PM” 8:14:29 PM 11/13/06 “Um rosey you are aware that during the Arclight missions on the Ho-chi-mihn trail the casualty rate was so high the NVA really considered negotiations. Additionally they were brought to the tables by the Nixon bombings of Hanoi and the New Jersey shelling their ports. In fact if you check the Vietnamese museums you will find they link their success to the American Left and the Anti War effort. People like Jane Fondah and SENATOR John Kerry are recognized for their effort to defeat the United States.” 8:21:34 PM 11/13/06 “It's no surprise that Vietnamese (especially those in power for the last 30 years) would appreciate people who wanted the bombs to stop and who wanted the US out. It doesn't have much bearing on whether the anti-war movement was right or wrong.” 8:36:22 PM 11/13/06 “LOL>...RIIIIGHT.” 8:53:48 PM 11/13/06 “your right XL, right and wrong have nothing to do with it....” 8:56:54 PM 11/13/06 “The frightening thing is that if we take the ability to do the "low impact" wars...we leave the Generals with only the multiterrible massive wars of the past. I have said it before, I am still unhappy with the touchyfeely way we went into Iraq. I think the Islamo Fascists watched and took the American desire to preserve life as a weakness. I do wonder what would be happening today if, when we first hit say Fallujah we had pounded it into dust and rebuilt it. Granted you are talking civilian deaths rivaling those of World War II....but would we have saved lives? You know for all the horror of Hiroshima and Nagasaki even the Japanese admit they saved MILLIONS.” 9:30:44 PM 11/13/06 “Think for a minute. I know it goes against the grain when we are talking about Vietnam or other US wars, but thought and logic really do help clarify things. Would you only want an invading army to leave if their reasons for invading were just? If you knew you would be able to continue to fight a foreign army to a stalemate for another century if need be, would you be happy or unhappy if they left and the fighting stopped?” 9:31:46 PM 11/13/06 “Are you thinking if we leave the Wars will stop? I mean if we pull out of Iraq you are saying it will become a peaceful country? Actually the Russians were great for getting the Germans and Japanese to allow us to stay. As for an army invading for just reasons...Ped you do need to check out some of the sites where soldiers are remarking about their missions. I have a large number of close friends going over and coming back. Without exception they #&%!$ that the media will not show what is really happening. I have one friend who talks about a battle in which the towelheads hit AbuGahrib....it was repulsed, no casulties...the Islamos got the crap kicked out of them. To him it was nothing. He and his fellow Marines had ONE..count em ONE reporter...but when the got back to the barracks they saw CNN..reporting this HORRIBLE disaster for the military. imagine if trail days we went out and cleaned miles of trails. Then next weekend we see a report showing how crappy a job we had done....how many people would we get next year?” 9:39:24 PM 11/13/06 “XL, that is an excellent comparison...lol. I do tons of trail maintenence.....” 9:42:15 PM 11/13/06 “XL - You are jumping from topic to topic. I was talking about Vietnam and the fact that their pleasure over the US opposition to the war, has no bearing on whether the war was right or if it could have been won in the long time. You disagreed and I invited you to think that piece of logic through. We can address your fantasies about how our war dead are really not as dead as the media says they are later on.” 9:57:37 PM 11/13/06 “I can make better smoke rings than you can.” 11:32:07 PM 11/13/06 “Ped, you know I am sure you have extensive experience with the study of the tactics and strategy of the Vietnam war, while my experience was limited to studying rather tough reciminations produced by men who had actually been there. (NOT the cowardly admitted traitors like John Kerry, but real heroes). The greatest problem we had in Vietnam started in Korea. It started with the Politicians running the war. That happened in Korea, Vietnam, and heck even the s-bg production called Desert One During the JIMUH reign. We are seeing a replay in Iraq and Afghanistan becuase Rumsfeld was trained by the creators of Vietnam. You want to end Iraq and Afghansitan? Cut the Generals loose, like they did in the Gulf War. Let them bring the potential for every form of destruction allowable. LOL I remember in Savannah following the first Gulf War we had a reporterette who was sobbing over the destruction on the Road of Death where the airforce lliterally wiped out the Iraqi troops. Thats the problem. You FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL the pain....and the heroes have to live the pain. I get to experience a microcosym of that when my firemen fight a tough fire in a big house. Then we get to get the second guessing from the media (and usually the inexperienced homeowners) regarding the "damage we did". Chappy the war on Islamic Terrorisim is alot like a trail cleaning. It will continue until "thought patterns" change. Islam (the Fascist type) is a lot like the ULTRA Christian types....the ones that demand total and complete obedience. They usually appeal to the lower educated who operate of emotion and a desire to control. The question is do we play nice with someone who will never play nice? Or do we seek a way to end it?” 7:41:06 AM 11/14/06 “Since you don't want to want to back up your "“LOL>...RIIIIGHT” we can drop the subject, though it would have been interesting to see you respond to a logical statement with something more than ridicule. XL - I actually agree with you on one of your main points. If you need to fight a war, fight an all out war. Wars are bloody, messy and sometimes necessary. They are best fought with the maximum force you can bring to bear - with few restrictions on weapons and tactics. You get yourself into a nasty situation when you try to have a war and have the benefits of presenting a nice, friendly and diplomatic face... especially when that entails an occupation. Personally, I would have preferred continued sanctions, UN inspections, and the no-fly zone. Second choice would have been get in, take Baghdad, arrest the folks you can catch and tell the rest of the Iraqi army you'll be back in a flash if there's a problem. Maybe even let some army council establish power having made a few promises, with the threat that you'll be back if they go too far astray. The question now is what would be accomplished by escalating to a full scale war? Who is the enemy and who are you protecting in a country where a huge majority of the population thinks attacking you is a good thing? Kosovo was not disastrous, because we weren't trying to pacify territory, we fought to clear out another occupying army... all we had to do was give the Kosvars enough air support to let them go to work.” 8:37:26 AM 11/14/06 “Well actually the proof in the pudding there will be what happens AFTER we leave. Ped in a way we are arguing shades of grey. Personally I would have liked to see American just target Iraqi Military units. Heck you can find a division of tanks...then Saddam violates a regulation...BOOM. A division disappears. Our inspectors go to a palace or what not (where most of the stuff was stored) they deny access as they were supposed to allow..the inspectors thank them. Get in the choppers and leave. A couple of hours later the WHOLE facility disappears. A few years ago I worked with a police department who had a very popular chief. My partner and I were detailed to take a summons to a house of a P.O.S.. I am talking if he was not Grand Wizard he was the right hand inbred. Two other officers had had problems in the past. The guy was jerko numero uno. So we asked the chief what we could do ..i.e. what happens if the guy threatens us. The Chief laughed and said, "If you are threatend, eliminate the threat, you know the law." We pulled up at the house at around 7 PM Bubba is on his front porch. We walked up to the gate (my partner was black) and asked him to come to the gate. He told us to come on in. As we stepped in the gate he reached up and opened the screen door and let a huge Rotwiler out. The dog took about five bounds in our direction and my partner shot it dead. I mean it was like something out of the wild west. My partner reholstered his gun, looked at the guy and said, "Well we were here to serve a summons but you can go ahead and stand up and put your hands on the wall, you are under arrest." The guy was so in shock he meekly complied. The guy had been so used to officers running like hell to get away from the Rotwiler and seeing them embarrased he never thought this would happen.” 8:53:07 AM 11/14/06 “It's amazing how we can't seem to chase those occupying forces out of Iraq like we did in Kuwait. last edited: 11/14/06 7:22:03 PM” 7:19:16 PM 11/14/06 Jump to Page << prev
