BUFFALOPALOOZA TRIP REPORT

“Actually Moz the rain pants aren't even damaged. Can't find a single thing wrong with them. You missed the burning of my BIG chair on Saturday night though. It was Stikmon's fault.(not really)LOL Every mis-adventure on the Buffalo MUST involve Stikmon, it's a rule.”

“Moz, what are you doing up at that hour? You are usually in the sack about seven. LOL”

Yup, you guys better watch out if I manage to help YOU PACK!!! MOOOOOOOOhahahahahahaahaaa!!! I'll have the whole stinkin' living room and kitchen sink along. :-)

But... actually...

1) Booties. They're HIS. He let me wear them cuz my one foot got wet on the last water crossing. Now I know you guys have never seen the NICE, NON-PSYCHOTIC SIDE of Stikmon, but it's there once in awhile.

2)Thermarest chair. HIS. A three-quarters-length Thermarest to boot. And when he got up to do something away from the fire I STOLE IT! (bad lizs)

3) Warm blanket. Hey, call it by its name "warm flannel blankey." MINE. I carried it. He had no clue and then laughed at me when he saw it draped around me at the campfire. lol!

4)Stikmon snuggles??? Hmmmmmmmm...”

“Jgeils, do you know someone scavenged something off that chair once it was thrown away? Yup.... Let's see if there's a confession. LOL!!”

This Trip report is a Riot!!!!!”

“Well, it seems Strat has me permanently locked out of TT so I'll have to post on his screenname.

Yeah, Moz, I was on time and ready to hit the highway when I stopped to fill up my water bottle at a gas station. In my infinite wisdom, rather than hike Steel Creek to Kyles, I opted to spend the next hour watching both of Elkins, Arkansas' finest (yes, there are only two) try to break into my Honda. For an encore, they spent the next hour removing to door panel to dislodge and retrieve their slim-jim. Facinating.

Finally, I arrived at Steel Creek, passing the orange pylon and make-shift "4x4 only" sign at the entrance. I rounded the first bend of the decent and saw a stranded vehicle cross-wise in my path. "I don't need any of THAT", I thought to myself as I put it in reverse. I was almost backed up to the entrance, when I glanced back around to the front of my car and saw that I was nose to nose with another car and Moz was walking toward me. That was weird! He said I could make it down, so I tried it, and he was right.

Fast-forward to the Kyle's decent. YIKES!! That was completely dangerous! I lost traction and slid down the 3 worst hills, but luckily I stayed on the road. It's like Chili or Arky said (can't remember who), you start thinking to yourself "exactly what diameter of tree does it take to stop a Suburban from rolling down the mountain?" or in my case, a CRV! I was following Strat, who had to stop about 400 times to put his chains back on, and another 400 times to gather the bon fire fuel.

Anyway, I've got a ton of housework to do, so that's the end of my report. It was fun, thanks for having me, I enjoyed meeting/seeing you again, and I look forward to the next hike. I aspire to actually backpack a trail one of these days.

Hey Jer, Moz, JG....I quit smoking (again) today. Strat already bailed on me. Think a good thought for me. I'm swimming upstream here; trying to do the right thing.

“I have been going through h3ll tonight working on photos. Webshots pissed me off, so I am learning how to set up my own webpage through Photoshop. I think it will be cool. Hopefully, I can figure out how to upload it to the web tomorrow.

“I've heard lots of bad things about Webshots providing/selling/whatever names to third parties. Their provider agreement basically verifies that.

I was halfway through uploading my shots, well, 24 to be precise. It stops and tells me that in order to do any more, I'm at the point where I have to buy a Webshots account. So I grin, swallow and decide, OK, I'll do that.

But halfway through the whole process I got fed up with the whole idea and bailed. So now I fear they have all my info and I can expect telemarketer calls up the wazoo and tons of spam. Great.

So I pulled all the shots and started fresh with Photoshop's automated webpage feature.

(and remember, this all happened after the DVD movie that wouldn't work, that had me checking for all kinds of drivers, etc... ughhhhhhhhh!)”

“I haven't had any problem with my free webshots accounts. They are limited to the number of pics per album and the number of albums per account. I just get another account.

My ultimate goal is to do like you, lizs, but webshots has been a good alternative in the meantime.”
