Yesterday was a particularly difficult day. Met dhutch and Smiley Girl at the Plymouth Ice Sculpture Spectacular. After checking out the ice, we hit a pub. Lots 'o smokers around. Sure smelled good!!!!

I resisted.”

“Great, SG! I have been around smokers the whole weekend and couldn't help but think "Why the hell did I do that in the first place?" BTW - Didn't get to REI last night, plan on going sometime today.”

“It's going okay...only slipped a couple of times yesterday while drinking a Spanish Coffee. None today though! And no Spanish coffee's today, either! :)”

“Just keep trying, WE. It's is hard! I think the thing that is working for me is I' giving myself permission to have one, if I feel like it. I know that it is impossible for me to never smoke again. It's just not relistic, but I'm putting off that smoke for as long as I can. If/when I do have a smoke, I will not beat myself up about it. Baby steps add up. Keep it up, if you need any support, you let us know!”

“The only thing that is going to help, and I am on my way out the door right now, is exercise and lots of water. Then, eat garlic. A cigarette after eating garlic is VERY nasty. I guess I'd rather smell like garlic than smoke. It's very cold outside but going for a little jog will warm me up, right? Then, chew gum like a cow. I should be all set here. Sounds like a pretty attractive picture, doesn't it? Garlic smelling, cow chewing....non-smoker!”

“Wolfie - I'm just being realistic about it. I don't plan on it, just me. I'm not in trouble with it. I was at my mon's house today for lunch and my sister was smoking Winston's. GGGGGGEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZ those things stink! Wholly Cow! Much worse than Marblows! Before, they all smelled the same.

I guess I'm just saying that if it happens, it happens. I've seen too many people beat themselves up over it and it leads them right back to smoking heavy again. Thanks for the kind words!”

“Tarabull...yes, I have and you are right...it does tastes like shinola! However, I cannot do the ice cream or else I will have to start a "Lose Weight in 2004" thread and I refuse to do that! One of the times I quit smoking for three years (yes, 3 years)and I poofed out to 160 pounds! I started smoking again to lose weight cause I was too lazy to exercise. I lost the weight like overnight but it was not worth it. I guess now, I'd rather stink to high heaven of garlic, and just maybe, I won't have to buy too much bug juice this summer. Besides, most of my customers are of the Arabic descent, so I pretty much fit in while at work. At home, my dog does not seem to care too much.”
