Some of my book.
Footprints are a short calling card that you leave when you are hiking along a trail that dissappar soon after you make them.I can remember the first time I had gone backpacking. It was like a child was finally born.In the summer of 1990 I had gone backpacking for the first time and it changed my life forever.Backpacking is a great way to release all the trouble of evryday life and a great stress reliever. This short book is a collection of my thoughts of what I see through my eyes as a backpacker and a hiker.

Enjoy.

(Life)

At the dawn of a new day life is new again.Looking on the ground you see the dew in the grass hear the voices of the warm breezes in the air.

God with his great power has painted a great land for us too see and play in.He has given it many faces and colors.Look around and you will see his power.

Look to the sky and sometimes you can see rays of sunlight brake through the clouds these are like the fingers of Gods hand.

Trees with there branches stand tall and look to the sky.I beleave that trees feel just as we do in a special way.Even though they cannot talk.

Hiking in the forest and in the mountains and in all the other wild places brings great joy to all those who wander there in.

Stop and look whn you see things along the trail that catch your eye.Life is short soak it all in.

The smells the wildlife the ground in which you are walking on all play a great game with your senses feel it all through out your body as it fills your heart with joy.

Don't just look at being in the backcountry as a way to get away but as a way to clean your spirt wash away all your problems and make your life simple and care free again.

Ok that is a taste of it I have alot on paper but I am still going so tell me what do you all think of that page?

Some more!
Outside in the wilderness calling you with its open arms time seems to pass by unseen. To me this is like having the best dream that you could ever have only you are not asleep you can see touch feel and smell the wild all around you.
If you could step back and look all around you and see the bigger picture you would see that where you are does not matter what matters is the fact that you are wild and free of the problems of everyday life. Its like being a kid again so carefree and happy giving way to feelings that make you feel good inside. Are you one with the wilderness? These feeling are easily achievable but often over looked. The simplest things can be missed but through a hikers eyes visions of magic and beauty can be seen and achieved.

Being out on the trail gives you this joy these feelings of being a kid again at play. When you were young and you got that toy that you always wanted and then you got it. That overwhelming joy of having that toy is what backpacking in the wilderness is like to me.

The release! My God the release! It builds up all through the week having the thoughts in the back of my mind of how soon I am going to be able to hit the trail and be hiking again. Being one with the wilderness and being carefree again.

I am finding it hard to tell the difference between the fact that I know that I have to work and the fact that I want to go backpacking all the time. Which do I do? Am I going to have to slave my life away to pay bills and do what normal people do? Or can I give everything up and do what I have dreamed about doing?

Just being on the trail makes life a little easier I get the feeling that I am at play when I am backpacking and that makes the best feeling in the world.
