Matt, your site is fine; I think the problem is on the other end.” 11:32:06 AM 1/09/03 “From your status bar (bottom bar of your screen) Start-programs-accessories-command promt.” 11:34:17 AM 1/09/03 “Not on my Windows 98, HPM.” 11:43:07 AM 1/09/03 “I got it, I just can't copy out of that window. Don't feel like re-typing everything that's there. What's the pertinent info?” 11:47:41 AM 1/09/03 “Start, Programs, MS-DOS Prompt After typing what Matt wants and getting the reply, hit the square button on top to paint the text, then the button to the right of it to save it. It is faster in some functions, but still slow when posting a message or hitting "back to Trail Talk main page.” 11:55:02 AM 1/09/03 “Thanks for the pings everyone. That helps a little. I think the problem may be a banner ad from one of my ad companies that is causing the problem.” 12:00:32 PM 1/09/03 “BAN BANNERS??” 12:02:39 PM 1/09/03 “I noticed that one of them was failing, but it never occurred to me that it could be the reason for the slowdown.” 12:06:27 PM 1/09/03 “I have no idea what the square button is....but thanks for holding my hand, everyone!” 12:13:34 PM 1/09/03 “Start-programs-accessories-command promt." humanpackmule Not on mine, either. Mine requires: Start > Run I've tried everything I know, but I can't catch the printout. Redirection, MORE, etc. fail me. Only the keyboard Pause will stop it, but I can't catch the display at the end so that I can make a copy. I have a DOS 6 Book, but my system does not have all of those instructions. Previously, I have used redirection and have written Batch Programs that work on here. smiley girl - I son't see any ssquare button, either.” 1:57:04 PM 1/09/03 “I'm with Geo, it only slows down when I post a message to a thread. It logged onto a page where posts were listed from Jan. 2. Clicked on a thread, it would say there were no current posts. Refresh did no good. I think I finally logged out and logged back in to get it to work.” 11:31:06 AM 1/10/03 Matttttttttt!! “Have you been getting my e's about changing my profile email address??? Thanks!” 10:10:02 AM 1/13/03 “For those interested, I guess when I re-installed everything, my new database build isn't as fast as the old one. So I tried some query optimizations and they seem to help a little. </geek>” 10:43:39 AM 1/13/03 “Wooohooooo! yay for optimizations!” 10:45:51 AM 1/13/03 “So, if I try a "query optimization" on myself, I can get my work done faster? Gee, if only I'd known....” 10:47:02 AM 1/13/03 “I don't think I'd ever try a queery optimization.” 10:52:58 AM 1/13/03 “queery optimization???? Isn't that what Khatru was doing to Bucky???” 10:54:52 AM 1/13/03 “sounds like somethimg those backpacker.com folks would talk about over tea and crumpets.” 10:56:56 AM 1/13/03 “Hey! What was that?” 7:26:12 PM 1/13/03 “Is TT slow in loading or is it just me?” 7:45:27 PM 1/13/03 “I just plain gave up on trying to load it from anything outside the website. But I was able to get into other areas of this site and from there got in here. Weird!” 9:23:27 PM 1/13/03 “2 second load just a minute ago.” 9:39:52 PM 1/13/03 “Matt, Every time I post or refresh the page, I get an error message. It indicates a syntax error on both 94 and 97. Is this a problem with my computer or the site?” 9:49:17 AM 7/29/03 “That is "lines 94 and 97"” 9:49:56 AM 7/29/03 “I'd confidently guess it has to do with ads that Matt doesn't control.” 9:57:32 AM 7/29/03
