“once it was alright. 2 other times the guys were downright mean. they walked the dog around my car forever then made me get out and walk my dog over to the side so their dog could walk around my car a few more times. so pointless.
if you have someone get your pass just tell em to hide it under their wheel well or something so you can grab it off their car.
you might also be able to get one at your local outfitter, i don't know.”

“depending on what time we leave your house we might have trouble getting a parking permit for your car. walkindude and Yam are suppose to be at my house by 5:00 Thursday afternoon and I should be justing getting home. Hopefully we can be at your place by 6:00 and then head out. It should take us approx 3to 3.5 hrs to get there which will be 10:00 to 10:30 EST. It will be close.”

“How many dogs are going on this hike besides Shanedoggy. Never having been there, I am getting a little nervous about trails alongside cliffs. I'm not concerned about keeping him leashed and from running off of one, just walking along a narrow ledge with him on the leash. I've had to pull him up a bluff before but he's a big dog. Comfort me??”

“I am bringing mine and hope she does not take a nose dive. The first time I took her backpacking with CMB group, she did fine.She still has some puppy in her. Now you are making me worried. My wife said I have to take her, so I am stuck.”

“my dog's been there a million times. never had a problem. dogs aren't that dumb. he does scare me sometimes though, he likes to go look over the overhangs.”

“I don't know who said the 18 degree thing, but I think they were just hassling Binks. Weather.com says lows on Sat and Sun are gonna be 31 and 33. Not sure which applies to Sat night/Sun morning, but neither is 18. Possible rain, but otherwise a good weekend for packing.”

“I am going to get to the meeting place very fast becuase I am going to driveso fast to get to the shell station to get my permit.

“Dunno Big Poppa. Binkley says he's not an early riser. It's only a hop and a skip from there to the next campsite so we won't be in a big hurry. Maybe we'll hike up to some cliffs before we break camp. Whatever.”

“That was my next question. It is a pretty short hike to the next camp. I was wondering what side trails everyone was looking at. I don't think I ever did that Shalwotee Trace hike, but that is in the wrong direction and I do not see a loop.”

“BigPoppa, last November, 5 of us camped under the big pine trees about a hundred yards northwest of the junctions of the Rough Trail (#221) and the Koomer Ridge Trail (#220) where the group intends on camping Friday night. From that spot last November, we had a great day hike down the Rough Trail to the spectacular Grays Arch. From Grays Arch, we hiked the Gray's Arch Trail south to the parking lot (garbage cans and toliets), then a block road walk to Pinch Em Tight Trail (#223) back to the Rough Trail, and then back to our original campsite. Instead of a day pack, I just stuffed my pockets with a flexible quart water container, and homemade energy bars.

The next day, we took a shorter day hike south along the Koomer Ridge Trail to the Hidden Arch Trail, then to the Koomer Ridge Campgrounds n(toliets, water, garbage cans, went and saw the Silvermine Arch, and then back to our campsite.”
