“This looks like its going to be a big gathering with the possibility of 30 some peeps. You all splitin up in to groups or what?”

“We're all planning on camping at a common point but people are going to take different routes to get to the site. People can choose their own trails. Figured it would be easier that way.”

“I'm afraid that G00SE and I are going to have to pull out of this one. We're just not going to be able to get the time off on that particular weekend that we would need to go that far away. We'll see you all another time.”

“I found out this Friday that I'll be kicked out of the house that weekend. Some sort of twins sister and daughter ritual shopping/gambling thing. So, of course, I'll go backpacking!

Is there any room on this trip for on more Michiganiac?”

“Oh my goodys, we may have to get a bus or a van. Yay, LeSubtil!

“I have room leaving Friday morning 8ish if you want to carpool. I think Sass and Tara are leaving about the same time. I'm picking up wolfsister on the way through OH. There's always room for one more!”

“Ok, I know it's here, but I didn't find it. If I were to come in Friday night, arriving around 9-10 p.m, where would I find permits and parking passes?”

“look on the trips page. there is a gas station along the way.”

“You can get a parking permit from the Shell gas station at the Slade exit. $3.00/night. That's the only fee, no backcountry permit, etc.”

“Man oh man did we get some ice this past weekend. Trees and tree limbs are down everywhere. We've got thousands of homes without power. Unless trail crews are super quick, plan on there being ALOT of down trees on the trail for our trip. Guess that means fire wood won't be hard to find.

“I got approved for the days off (6-10) but I will still remain on the maybe list for now. I let a friend barrow some money and will have to see if it gets paid back before I go on the trip. I hope it all works out.”

I heard something about the area we're all supposed to be camping (first night) having been marked as an area that is a forest regeneration area or something. It's supposed to be low impact only. Does anyone know if that's correct?”
