“...to drink milk after its been frozen?” 7:54:04 AM 1/09/03 “yeah, i think so! i used to eat yogurt after it had been frozen all the time (in my lunch), so i guess it's about the same...” 7:58:56 AM 1/09/03 “Excellent. Someone here mentioned that you can freeze breast milk and give it to a baby, so cow's milk oughta be the same. In an attempt to eat breakfast every morning, I brought in a box of cereal and a nalgene full of milk. But the small refridgerator we have here doesn't regulate the temp well, and I found my 28 oz of milk frozen solid. Luckily, the building furnace does not regulate the temp well either, and i'm using space heater to thaw it out. :)” 8:01:07 AM 1/09/03 “oh, at work? that's cool you brought that stuff in...i'm always thinking i should do that. "luckily," lol!” 8:03:58 AM 1/09/03 “Yea, I used to buy my milk on sell and freeze it all the time. That was when I was tring to feed my bottomless pit of a son.” 8:09:40 AM 1/09/03 “by the way, i don't think you should drink it if you re-freeze it after it thaws this time. i believe one time frozen is the limit...at least it's that way for chicken. right? i don't think i made that up...” 8:16:49 AM 1/09/03 “i was wondering about that. guess that means i'll have to walk ALL the way upstairs and use that fridge. OH THE HUMANITY!” 8:19:04 AM 1/09/03 “that's true with food, lyra. I never trust re freezing. And I cook a lot!” 8:19:12 AM 1/09/03 “so, you guys never cook some chicken or beef, and throw it in the freezer? like if you made spaghetti sauce with meat, and froze it?” 8:20:53 AM 1/09/03 “I think after you cook it it's a different story. Cooking something is like a reset button for refreezing.. at least that's what I always thought.” 8:25:15 AM 1/09/03 “Yes, it's safe to freeze milk. If it's been thawed and refrozen a few times it might taste funny due to damage to fats ans proteins in the milk, but they all get digested anyways and you can still drink it.” 8:25:51 AM 1/09/03 “taseted fine, smelled like it was a couple days old (not expired!), but i guess that doesn't bother me too much.” 8:26:50 AM 1/09/03 “If you defrost something and then cook with it, you can refreeze it. What I'm saying is that I wouldn't defrost something and then simply refreeze it.” 8:32:02 AM 1/09/03 “ok, gotcha. i wouldn't do that either.” 8:32:29 AM 1/09/03 “OMG!!! Memories of finding out about the other girl who shares my computer at work (the only terminal in the back room... and the only other office person a woman up front). The gal up front told me she heard the ole milk pump humming away... as that gal sat there at the comptuer ON MY CHAIR!!! I mean, NOT LIKE YOU'D WANNA DO THAT IN THE BATHROOM OR SOMETHING!! Then her milk bottles were always in the frig. Sometimes for a ridiculously long period of time. EEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWYYYYY!!! She has since quit. Still has the office laptop that was provided to her. We keep waiting for criminal charges to be sworn out on her. OK, well, small claims court anyway!!” 8:35:11 AM 1/09/03 “I just had to be sure this thread didn't involve any impromtu dentistry without novocaine... or somethin'!” 8:58:19 AM 1/09/03 “That's a touchy subject lizs. Do you think infants should have to breast feed in the bathroom too? If her breasts are covered what the heck difference does it make? If they weren't she's a bit nutsy.=) I can't imagine someone sitting in the office, chest exposed, typing away.” 9:44:19 AM 1/09/03 “See, this kinda goes back to my problem with being invited into an informal meeting while someone is pumping at work. Just seems like there are some things that should be off limits in the general office area.” 9:50:27 AM 1/09/03 “freeze breat milk! It's sooooo much better from the tap.” 9:53:50 AM 1/09/03
