Fond memories of the Vet......

"When I was 7, my father took me to my first Eagles game. We sat in the 700 level. My dad took us to Pat's, we tailgated out in the parking lot, and I got a good idea of the Veterans Stadium experience. I don't remember who won, or who we played, but I do remember going to the bathroom for the first time at the Vet.
Like a well-raised young man, I zipped up and headed to wash my hands, when all of the sudden, I was grabbed from behind and lifted clear off the ground. It was my dad, and he assured me that I did not wash my hands at the Vet, regardless of how my mom raised me. The three guys whizzing in the sinks next to me agreed with my father."

Sounds like a plan to me!

Never have gone to an Iggles game at the Vet. The Army-Navy crowd is a tad more inhibited.

The Bucs are 1–21 in games they’ve played at temps 40 degrees or below. It’s going to be 28 degrees for this game and that does not include the wind chill.

Fly Eagles fly, on the road to victory.
Fight Eagles fight, score a touchdown 1-2-3.

Hit 'em low,
Hit 'em high,
And we'll watch our Eagles fly.

Fly Eagles fly on the road to victory.

Condolences from a Cowboy fan
I don't talk out loud too much about this, but this year I decided Donovan McNabb was the greatest player in the game and that Andy Reid was a genious. So I've been quietly pulling for the Eagles to go all the way.

Yesterday's game plan was all too familiar to me. The Eagles had decided the same kind of lame offensive play calling that's gotten the Cowboys 3 straight 5-11 seasons was all they needed to win the NFC championship. 1st down - run into a wall of bodies at the line of scrimage. 2nd down - play action screen pass for 1 yard. 3rd & 9 - against the Buccs? Forget about it!

Maybe if Feeley had been playing some more imagination would have been put into the play calling. The coaches lost this very win-able game. Playing not-to-lose just stinks!

And I'm not going to miss the Vet.

Neither will this Philly fan miss The Vet. Baseball on a rug is not baseball.

As for the game, C'est la vie. That's why they play the game sports fans. Could-a, should-a, would-a don't cut it.

Gruden and the Bucs took the Birds apart with plays engineered to take advantages of weaknesses. The Eagles could not adjust to that and down they went. Gruden took the risk and won; Reid didn't take a risk and lost.

Damn game just lasted 59 minutes too long in my book!

What's the difference between the Eagles and the Taliban?

The Taliban has a running game.

How can ya tell when the Eagles are going to a running play?

What's the difference between the Eagles and a dollar bill?

You can get four quarters out of a dollar bill

Why are the Eagles and Billy Graham the same?

They can both get 70,000 people to stand up and yell, "Jesus Christ!"

Why was Andy Reid upset when the Eagles play book was stolen?

Because he hadn't finished coloring it yet

Tee hee hee! For once, I can finally read these jokes and not have them be about the Bucs.

Win or lose, I'm proud of my Bucs.. but of couse.. they WILL win. :-)

I ain't a-gonna argue witcha Artex! Red and that ungodly gray-brown are not my favorite colors anymore. I used to love the Bucs, but no more Mr. Nice Guy! If they're not gonna be nice to us anymore, then it's all over!

Well, Keyshawn Johnson claims that he will never talk to the media again, unless it's through the column he writes on ESPN.com. Now at least it's just that Sapp guy that you have to worry out. The rest of the Bucs are a bit more dignified (thank God). There's room for just one trash-talker, but not two, IMHO.

Worn Sap is okay. That phony website was a hoot. Game's over, life goes on, pitchers and catchers report just 20 days from now, the time of the Atlanta Brats is just about over.

Okay, I'm with you here.. I HATE the Braves!

My biggest challenge this baseball season will be making the transition from a Yankees fan to a Red Sox fan. You see, everyone roots for the Red Sox up in Maine. I'm interchangable with my allegiance to sports team based on geography, however, that will NEVER apply to my Bucs..! :-)

It's the Sea Dogs!
Yeah yeah, ... whatever. Yankees miss the World Series one year and look what happens. "I'd like a Red Sox hat," says Artex, taking off his NY hat. "And maybe next season it will be a Phillies hat!"

If it were a true geographical orientation, you would be wearing a Portland Sea Dogs hat. That's the Maine team. I may have an old one around that I bought when a kid from our town played with them in their first two seasons. Only worn two years. Cooties have died by now. It's about 7 1/2.
