I'm very much ready to get back into the woods and was hoping to go this weekend but I'm skeerd of da snow.

Hope you all have been doing well and I hope to get back in here a little more often soon.

Im retiring in my hometown in NC. I always said that I would never come back here but here I am. I bought a great place that my wife and I both love very much. It's really alot bigger than we need and it's gonna take up most of my retirement check to pay for it but what the heck, ya can't take it with ya! Besides I'm gonna have to work anyways or I would go Batty.I have a job lined up in sales already and iffin everything goes as planned the job should provide very well that is iffin the whole world doesn't get laid off.

Get a goat,, it beats taken out the trash.

A friend had goats on his farm. They trash this old Mazda wagon of his. Roof, hood and everthing was dented or smash in . Zeus was this little one with about 2 foot horns and was to be avoided.

I look forward to kickin dirt with you again some day.

Congrats!!! Spam.

There is a lady in the NM Moutain Club that has hiking goats. I've never seen them. My kids used to love the Nigerian Pygmy goats at the fair. They tried very hard to talk us into getting a couple.

Glad to hear you are back and short-timing. Where is home? Let me know when you get settled in. I got a pack-goat. We need to make a trip. I'm planning a thru-the-smokies trip this spring sometime in May or June. I'd be proud to have you along. I'd even leave the goat at home.
Best wishes in retirement!!

Hey Spam!!

Good to see you! A good lurk every now and then, and look who shows back up. I miss talking with you!

AND BS!! I remember the 1st Linville Gorge trip. Brrrrr!!!

Good to see ya'll. Talked on the phone today with a friend back in SC. She said they got 3 inches so I can only imagine what you got up in NC.

My contract is up in a few weeks. I am a free agent again with FedEx if I want to transfer. I will most likely hang out here in Sacramento for a while. If you want to come out an hike, let me know. Nekkid is just down the interstate about an hour from me, but from his post.... Looks like they might be moving again too?

Keep in touch!

I'm happy to hear from all of you too! As for the goats I hadn't considered them as pack animals but now ??????

We went to the Feed & Seed a couple days ago and my daughter asked iffin they made bridles for goats and I couldn't answer her. Does anyone know?

I only have 2 goats so far, a Billy and a Steer. I am looking for a couple Nannys as we speak. My daughter named them Gandolf and Gonzo. I thought those were good goat names.

We got a little snow last night here in the foothills so I'm taking advantage of the snow being on the ground to burn off some brush in the pasture without setting the woods and fields on fire.

As for Linville Gorge I'm up for it very soon. I'm not planning on taking any time off so I can only do weekends for a while.I'm going straight from Army to civilian work.
