We have only had about five of these in my lifetime. Right now we are supposed to have 20-30 inches of snow before it is done. They closed school for a week in 1996 for one of these because they had so much snow to move out of the parking lots to make room for busses and they had to use backhoes. This time it is supposed to warm up later in the week and help melt some snow. Flooding will become a concern.”

“That's what happened in 1996. Two feet of snow followed by 60 degrees and rain caused really bad flooding here and the river went over.”

“Well, it has started here in Cleveland - we have about 1 foot of new snow on the ground, and it's coming down HARD!

“I just looked out my window and it's still coming down pretty hard. My car will probably be buried by days end.

Later on today I might order a pizza and pick it up myself, walking over in my snowshoes.”

I got up this morning and went on ESU's website to see if school was closed. If I didn't see they were closed I was going to call and #&%!$ majorly!!!

We have well over a foot here!
I haven't tried to push the door open yet to check.”

“I just talked to Tarabull who is driving back to MI, she is going 45 mph, and it's snowing cats and dogs.

She'll be allright, and I hope everyone else made it back home OK this weekend.”

I have no idea how much we've had because the high winds have drifted it all over the place. There's about 2.5 feet piled up against the front door, the back is clear. It's supposed to snow until tomorrow morning.

We're about to go play. I guess we'd better put a flag on my toddler.”

Glad I work from home! Got a big pot of black beans and rice cooking, that should keep me warm.”

“We have maybe 16 inches, but like Violin said, with the snow falling off the roof and blowing into drifts, it is really hard to say. I was teasing my daughter to not fall down or we might not ever find her, and she got really upset. Bad mommy!”

“Storm is gone here. We got four inches of ice then another four of snow on top. That's a bunch for southern Indiana. It's the most ice ever recorded in a 24-hour period for the entire region. I still went to work. Drats!”

“hey, the blizzard didn't even hit as far North as the FYAO trip! I wish it had snowed while we were there...the snow clouds would have kept it warmer for us. Brrrrr

It is still snowing here in PA. Dare and I snowshoed into town, trekking along the top of the snow-plow mountains on the side of the road. It was fun! When we got back to our house, we played king of the mountain - the snow mountain in front of our house is almost as high as the second floor of the house! Our neighbors think we're nuts...

I may go snowshoeing tomorrow after work in the gap before we loss all the snow. Have head lamp will travel. Tammany is real nice in the evening, watching the cars going by down below.”

Can't remember the segment. Wait! I think it wasn't too far from Gettysburg........ so would they have gotten buried, if that is indeed where they went??”

“I think you Yanks got more snow than us Canucks the last two years. "The Great White North" phrase goes to you guys. The only provinces that got hit bad this year were all on the east coast...New Brunswick, Newfoundland, P.E.I and Nova Scotia.”

“I spotted Chief in the Bierstube on Red Lodge Mountain yesterday (I was just passing through, of course). He was up there skiing with his kids. He forced me to drink a pitcher of Moose Drool afterwards.

8 1/2 feet of snow on the ski slopes so far in February but yesterday was sunny and clear. The rest of it went out east somewhere. Has anyone out there seen it?”

“Don't be telling on me!! Well here in Cody they let the high schoolers go home this morning, that is if you weren't already at home SICK.

I guess there was close to 200 students that stayed home sick, so they just decided to cancel school altogether.

The neihbor kids were out bbq'ing when I went home for lunch.”

To say that this weekend was a BLAST!!! is a gross understatement and falls way short of the true event.

In Red Lodge, we arrived to a fresh 12 inches of powder on Saturday morning.

The cardboard races were a hit, as always. AND, they had to haul 1 guy off on backboard and stretcher due to a big crash at the end of the race with another craft.

When we were driving out, two ambulances were going up.”

RedLodge got another foot today!!!

That guy who crashed in the cardboard race on Saturday. Turned out a piece of cardboard cut his throat.

Luckily they had Ski Patrol right there and were able to stop/contain the bleeding and, not so basically, saved the guys life.

Talk about lucky.”
