I'm looking for a new daypack. I have some cash my parents gave me for christmas.

I want pockets, place to strap stuff on the outside, and not too bulky.

Anybody got any ideas? Pictures?

A while back backpacker did a review of daypack that were also large enough for minimal backpacking. The winner was a Granite Gear Precipice(I think that was the model) Another thought would be a Mountainsmith Ghost. The Ghost is used by lightweight hiker as their primary pack.

I bought an EMS one that has two water bottle pockets. It has waist strap and sternum strap, cost about $65, and has the standard pen and other pockets. It has a nice carry handle as well.

I have not used it yet, but have put it on. It fits well and feels comfortable. It may or may not be what you're looking for, but they do offer several in their line, priced accordingly.

Daypacks
Last year after the christmas sales I got a real bargain at Target on a hydration pack with a 3-liter bladder for 27 bucks. Also at Wal-mart I was looking for some deer hunting supplies last month when I ran across a neat pack with a fanny pack attached. It was camo, the fanny pack had 2 water bottle holders and it attached and velcro-ed to the upper day pack which had 3 outer pockets. plenty of straps and a bungy strap for $29.95. A great buy, its my new light weight pack as I seem to over pack with my 4500 sq. in. big bag.

I beleive I got it at Bass Pro Shops. It's black with a hydration bladder, mesh pockets on the outside and a large stuff pocket on the outside also. The waist belt has pockets on it too. Inside there are many pockets for organizing gear. It also comes with a built-in rain cover and bungy system.
