it's done!
i don't mean to attract so much attention, but for those of you who may be interested, my hiking guide "hiking the endless mountains: exploring the wilderness of northeast pennsylvania" is now published and is on amazon.com and barnes & noble's website. it should begin to pop up in bookstores and outdoor stores over the next couple weeks.

almost 3 years of hard work as actually paid off.

the guide covers 56 hikes, most never before covered and reveals spectacular waterfalls, gorges, glens, cascades, vistas, and other awesome areas. several hikes are bushwhacks and i tried to appeal to both novice and experienced hikers.

i will also donate 20% of my proceeds to conservancies and trail organizations.

if you purchase one, let me know what you think. constructive criticism is welcome.

Good deal! Were you responsible for the maps, etc. also? As in you had to have a GPS to give distances, and some mapping skill to show the trails?

Impressive! I am sure it was punishing to write, considering all the first hand "research" you had to do. .

They say do what you love and the money will follow. What an awesome thing.

Congratulations Jeff!!!

how does violin do that?

the cover pic is bradford falls, about 100 feet high. i stumbled upon it while bushwhacking along a creek, the falls isn't shown on any map or other book. there are about 5 other waterfalls along this stream, a truly spectacular place.

I purchased your book through Amazon and it arrived on Tuesday. Congratulations and thank you for putting the Endless Mountains on the map as one of Pennsylvania's premier hiking places. I found your book to be professionally designed and written, and I enjoyed reading your first person accounts. You can tell that a lot of time and effort when into getting everything just right. I grew up visiting the Endless Mountains, and yet you've presented many places I have never heard of, I'm really looking forward to checking out these hikes. Your book will be a valuable trail reference for many years to come. I hope you make a ton of money and appreciate you generous gesture of donating procedes to outdoor charities. All of your TT family should be real proud, you did a great job with this book!

Have you considered marketing the trail guide in electronic book format for use with PDAs?

Prediction: jmitch sells 3 books total to people other than trail talkers.

Northeast Pennsylvania? Good God, what a waste of time. How about East Northeast South Dakota? Or Jasper County Kansas? Or my friggin' back yard?

NO ONE GOES TO NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA. And the ones that do already know where to hike.

Talk about losing money on a product with no demand.

if it was not for your book, I would be wondering around lost in PA!!
The nerve of you for wanting to do this!
what makes people want to write about something that they love then want to share it with other people!!

j/k mitch and you know I love your book. hey, screw anyone that does not like it!!
