Trying to find used gear.
I started out backpacking with a friends help. I purchased alot of cheap stuff which weighed 70 lbs and learned I loved it! Now I am looking to make it more enjoyable by not having to carry an elephant. haha.

Try ebay, gearexchange, REI members only used gear sales or if CMB is in the mood, you might just get lucky :)

I don't know if that came out right.....

bkerpaul...
before you contact CMB...you better fill in some info on your profile...and include some tidbits about yourself...such as trips, photo's etc...in other words...

WHO THE HECK ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU WANT???? if your a suckubus...you can go straight back to the dark hole that you have crept out of, but if you can answer 3 questions...well then maybe you can hang around.

My name is Paul. I am from Hector, AR. I didn't start backpacking until about 2 years ago. Bought alot of cheap stuff and realized it was too heavy. Just loving and learning the trails. 34 yrs of age. Last trip I made was with OHT members. JerBear , I felt, took me under his wing. Went from Arbaugh to Lickbranch. 14.6 mi. I love this!

I'm financially challenged right now and I need a two-person backpacking tent to get me through the early season.

Does anyone have one for sale or know where to get a cheap one?

about same as last one, not freestanding

WK lighter the better and I don't even want to spend that much right now lol...

I picked up a tent partner this summer :) so the lightyear I have isn't going to work.

Jimmy, the tarp is a good idea. Especially for this fall. Where's the cheapest place to get a sil-nylon? Then all i'll need is a piece of Tyvek.

Henry Shire Tarptents aren't badly priced and roomy as hell and they are light!

When do you need this? I could loan you my Eureka 2 Apex tent if you want.

Only negative is it weighs something like 6 pounds.

WK, thanks but I have plenty of people here close I can borrow from and that is an option. I was just thinking I might pick something up cheap if someone was wanting to unload something. No big deal.

100 is about the cheapest you'll find any tent..hell i don't think you can get a discontinued kelty zen for less than 110.
you could get a good sil nylon tarp for less, but will she dig it?..lol

Go-lite version of tarp tent

Even better!

I've read plenty of good things about those $30 tents on eBay you see all the time.

stovey I think I have this tent in green, bought it on ebay when I started out. I use it with my kids it works great. It's not very heavy and roomy.

I did only use it twice though, so I can't really say much about long term

Holy crap stovie now that's what I'm talking about lol. I'm going to have to give it a try. If nothing else my daughter can use it to camp out in the back yard!

Hope someones got room for two more if this thing self destructs on the knobstone trip.

The only thing that sucks is you can't choose your colors. I was kinda hoping for neon green and hot pink!
