Hiking website
Hi everyone, I just found this great message board and thought I would share our hiking website with other enthusiasts. You can check it out at Natural Born Hikers Thanks and enjoy.

Welcome to TT.
Your first post here? Looks like your advertising a site. It appears like someone did a lot of work there. Only looked at a little so far and did see some beautiful pictures. Good luck.

Will you be visiting us again?

No advertisement....
Hi, just sharing our adventures with like-minded folks. Yes, that was my first post and of course I will be visiting again. This seems like a very active board. Glad you liked our site!

Not to be rude to velodurt, but "I just found this message board" usually means "Come look at my new message board so I can get a lot of hits and get some real money from my advertising". Perfectly happy here, velodurt...

Okay, but....
I don't get any money from my website. It is just a personal account of some of the great places that we have hiked. If you don't want to look at it then don't click the link. Cool?

Sure, that's cool, but be honest next time. If it's your site, just say so. No reason to mislead people by saying "Come check out this site I just found!"

I think you read my message wrong...
The message board I just found is this one, I don't have a message board on my site.

Hi Pathman...
Yeah, don't check out yet...I just "met" you LOL. Yep, we are just friends and family who get together to hike whenever we can. Hope I'm not creating a disturbance here, I really just wanted to share our experiences. Thanks for the feedback.

Duck
I'd have to agree with bitpusher, about the honest thing, and you have to have real thick skin around here. You will get slammed pretty hard, all newbies do, your not getting started off on the right hiking boot, you better DUCK!

We get a lot of trolling here, velodurt. It helps to have a strong degree of skepticism.

Think of it as your "hazing" lol....

Ha! This place is a continuous disturbance in the order of the universe.

A new part of thebackpacker.com is the trips section. Check it out. Many people here do trips together, some approach Woodstock in attendance. There is a big East Coast contingent, big West Coast, pretty big Midwest, and Southeast. The Rockies are well sampled but sparse and widespread.

I think its just a misunderstanding of your initial post. We've had people make similar intro's before, trying to lure people to a new BB they just set up.

So, Velo, it's hard to tell where you are located. I need more TT'ers in NM, I can't even get any together for a hike. I mostly go solo. Looks like some of your group have been to some of the Indian artifact places here.

Nice Site!
Dang, you hiked ALL those places/states on your search list??? I even noticed you did some trails in my old stomping ground in the CVNP in OH. I like it.

btw - take everything you read here with a grain of salt...2-3 grains actually.

Welcome to TT velodurt.
Sensitive types don't survive here, but a lot of hardcore hikers do.
Click on "edit account" and fill out some of the profile.
Trolls don't generaly do this and you will be viewed as a "serious" (Hee hee) poster.
If you click on a poster's name, you get their profile.

I mess around on a MTB, mostly dirt roads, nothing very techical. My bike is a 10 year old KHS Montana Pro, steel frame, no shocks. Don't abuse it enough to see spending more on another. Got a pretty good road bike though, Cannondale R800. Need to wipe the dust off of it too. Put a couple of thousand miles on it two years ago, commuting, but feel out of the habit.

Sweet roadbike...one of our hikers (BP) is the Cannondale rep for the state of Washington. I have a 1987 F700. I bet New Mexico has some cool trails.

There are two buttons on the edit account page.
Click the "edit account" button to submit your profile, not the "submit preferences" button.
The site MAY not be working correctly yet. We lost a hard drive a few days ago.

Not my pic, its from Fat Tire Fiesta Website

I searched Google for goatheads and found it.

Put some tire liners in tonight. I had them in my commuting tires and road bike tires, but not my dirt tires. Had a flat with Slime and no liners within 5 miles. Slime tubes and plastic liners are the only way to go, unless you want those heavy, thick, thornproof tubes.

Welcome velodurt. I keep wanting to call you Veldemort for some reason.

I appreciate that you were able to calmly handle the misdirected hazing in the beginning. To be honest I was thinking the same thing at first.

I see you've done some Florida hiking as well. I live here in Central Florida and enjoyed the Withlacoochee (sp?) pics.
