Great pic of Akeena, Ewker !
Hate that I kept her on a leash the whole time but wasnt sure howd she behave with all the wonderful food around..I am going to try to get more creative with meals I fix on the trail..

I wish you all could seen her swim acros a few of those stream crossings..she dove right in like she was a pro..I do believe I have a good hiking partner now..

Pamster..thanks for all the doggie advice you gave me..

Ladies..remember in September its an all woman hike in the same area..Ill post it in a few days..

evergreen, glad you liked it. I tried to get rid of the red eye so we could see how blue her eyes were.

The kids and I hung out in Burnt Booger Hollow until mid-afternoon Sunday.

I removed the three smaller fire rings at the camp and rehabbed the spots. I debated moving the large one a piece, but naaah.

I had a great time. It was nice to see my old friends, and to meet some new ones.

On our way out, Gizmo made all the creek crossings by himself. He's turning out to be a pretty good hiker.

At one point I noticed Giz was packless. We turned back to find it lying on the trail. The sternum(sp?) strap had come aloose, and he appearantly walked through the belly and chest straps. I'm glad we were able to recover his pack - I would hate to have lost those socks he was packing - LOL!

We spent Sunday night in the parking lot of Pisgah Inn, and I had a big, hot breakfast there next morning. It was cool to sleep under the camper shell during Sunday nights rain. We slept like logs. The doggies missed their naps Sat and Sun, and were pretty well tuckered out. They always get caught up on the drive home, tho.

Speaking of...
I hope everyone made it safely to hearth and home.

Until we meet again...
