One day....all this will be yours..

Well i'm working for the family business, with the goal to take over it within the year. Adding 3-4 more trucks this month with my comping on. So, i'm back home, in rural south alabama. Be buying or building a house on some pretty land here soon.

Florala, al can now be a TT stop off for roadtrips further into FL, or into the Conecuh

Very cool OPIE.
Big responsibility when you are the BOSS and have to meet that payroll each week.
What kind of business? I know it has something to do with trucks. Ha Ha.
New house, new company, Mrs OPIE?

Right now we have 2 trucks we own, and have 6 other trucks leased to us. We have found that lease agreements are the best way to go...no overhead, and we get 25% of what the load pays. We also have an on-site 2 bay shop that we operate.

What I'm responsible for is keeping my trucks loaded, billing customers, and all the other paperwork. Putting out fires is what I do most of the time.

If I gotta do something, dad sits in the whole day, if he needs off i sit in and do it all. Now that i'm warmed up and comfortable i'm bringing 3 additional lease trucks online.

I just upgraded the office computer systems and have 3 comps running xp on a network connected to the internet via satellite.

A job you can do in your pj's and watch tv or play on the inet..gotta love it..thanks for all that tried helping me find something!

Congrats Opie..... are your folks teamsters out there, or have you avoided the dreaded union incursion?

Pay them and treat the well, and you won't need to worry about it.

Best of Luck Mr. Prez.

Congrats OPIE...I hope you'll still have spare time to go backpacking. Owning a business takes up a lot of energy and time.

Since you're the boss, you can take off anytime to go backpacking, right. Not. But when you can get off to go backpacking, you afford the most expensive equipment.

Is Miss Opie following you? If you are going to be tied down at work, and building a house, might as well hitch another knot.
