Good choice, Maple! I'm getting the same tent as soon as REI tells me what my member's dividend is going to be.

I hope you got the 2002 or the 2003...the 2001 has a problem with the fly...

It was posted on one of the discussions about this tent. I can't remember which thread though. When you get it, send it back and get the 2002.

Sorry Mapleleaf, I don't remember anything about a problem with the fly. You could search on the past threads.

Whoever posted about this problem said he took it back after using it. The problem has something to do with the fly letting water get in the foot of the tent. An alternative solution might be to write Sierra Designs and ask for the 2002 fly. It can't hurt to ask.

but I did get the sealer, You think this might help?
mapleleaf

A good seam sealing might solve the problem.
This tent is a classic lightweight tent. If something is wrong, after you use it, send it to SD for them to fix.

thats right darn it!! Ill stand my ground. Or at least hold my breath!

From what I read, the problem was with the design of the fly. Now, that design flaw might have been too many seams or something like that. You should always definitely seal the seams on your fly anyway, inside and out. And although they are factory-taped, you might want to consider sealing the floor seam as well. Don't bother with the other seams in the body of the tent, that fabric is not waterproof.

Oh, Maple Sweetie. Don't seal yourself in to the point where the local police have to get you out. It could be really embarassing. Almost as embarassing as the thread I will post the next day.

And I thought Maple was so much wiser than that...doesn't every married woman know that the proper answer to the question "What did you just buy?" is "I am so hot for you right now..."?
