I finally bought into Webshots, hope it lasts a couple years, not like that "other" site.

I have been adding lots of pictures, especially of Lassen Park. I still have some captions to do and more photos to add, but I thought a couple of you may be interested in seeing them.

Steve:

Cool pics! Some are even familiar. I climbed up to Palisades a few years ago. Much fun! Actually I was awoken from my slumber by a chopper hoovering over the glacier. A guy doing some ice climbing with no protection had fallen 50 feet and shattered both his legs and back.

The West Face slope of Shasta is my favorite. Done the summit twice from the route and plan to do it again in April. Hidden Valley is amazing.

Take it easy!

Thanks Steve! Did you guys build a igloo this year? We weren't sure you were doing the trip, so we snowboarded at Mammoth. Got the e-mail too late. there's always next year!

Mike, Last year SnowDude and I snowshoed in and carried our snowboards in on our packs. Some had snowshoes, some had skis, we had boards. On the second day we explored on snowshoes, and got some fresh tracks coming down. We tried snowboarding out with full packs. I did fine, til we went by the group and I fell! The rest of the ride out was easy! It was a fun trip!

Steve, what time of year was the Palisades trip? I like the tent on the rock site. And those winter trips are awesome!!! I would love to do that for a living! Thanks again!

If I hadn't made commitments with my family, I would have given that trip serious thought! Maybe next year.

Snow Nymph....Sorry about the late notice, we didn't make up our minds till a couple days before the trip. No igloo this year...did I tell ya that the one last year got nailed by a big tree a couple days after we left. The Palisades trip was late winter, Amy wanted to go somewhere "big" with no crowds.

Oh yea...
When I get Tamaras pictures of New Years I'll repost the trip report, it got lost during the big TT crash.

Looking forward to your report (to see what I missed). Did you do the fresh eggs for breakfast?

Oh yea, on some of your albums, it looks like you posted thumbnails. Open the thumbnail, and upload. ;-)

You bet we had eggs and sausage...Rodney brought T-Bone steaks too.

I am working on the thumbnails, I have to find the originals, the thumbnails are what I managed saved from that other site before it went down.

Wind Walker...you can't be that far away, come on by...

My tent is always open.

Nice Pics
Hey mtnsteve,
Nice pics...thanks. We used to live up your way. My wife is from the Cottonwood area. I used to travel all around alps, marbles, shasta, lassen...
I agree that Hidden Valley is very nice as well as some areas more north.
I miss hiking/fishing up that way. I miss the solitude. I primarily hike the Sierras now. What a zoo compared to that area.
Thanks again.
