YouKnowItsColdOutsideWhenItsFreezingInside
It's been so cold out that the inside of the place I slave at feels freezing. I brought a thermometer to work today and 44F was the average throughout the day.

Hey Artex, I'll guide you to the North Pole (and anyone else that wants to go). I just got a GPS companion for my Palm, so we should be good to go. Now, if we can get some of that magic dust that Santa sprinkles on his reindeer!

Stanlee
The last time I heard it was 18 degrees in TB was back in 1976 or 1977. I was living down there in a house where my room was the Florida Room equipped with nice, leaky jalousie windows. I remember being with some friends that night huddles around some space heaters (medicating ourselves also). We also got about an inch of snow that night, which proceeded to send the whole region into panic mode.

Something like -16 overnight here in Rhinelander, up to -2 at noon -- only 32F less than HELSINKI, FINLAND, which was reporting +30F (and it's evening there). When you are colder than Finland in the winter...(there's no nice way to complete this sentence).

It was minus something this morning. Every morning my car chants, no-I-won't-start, no-I-won't-start...lol

WARNING!!
Warning: Due to the lower air pressure common with sub-freezing
temperatures - the National Backpackers Association has issued a "lingering
methane gas alert". Be advised that this means that under ideal conditions
fuel vapors (typically white gas but other types have shown the same
characteristics) could bind with the methane gas molecules forming a highly
combustible vapor compound. You may want to take the precaution of
ventilating your drawers before striking a match or being around an open
flame such as a stove, candle etc to minimize the risk of giving yourself a
bad burn. It is also recommended that if you are prone to "ripping the big
one" - you may want to reconsider the type of material that you choose as
your base layer. Being oil based, polypropolene could be a bad choice and
could increase the duration of a flare up.

I heard on the radio that they're trying to cover with plastic bags, as much as possible, the citrus trees in Florida. Good luck to them.

Thanks for the info on sudden combustions Smokeygirl.

Only -2F in Fairbanks this morning at Birch Hill Nordic Center. -17 in town. Good ol' inversions. The ski area is up in the hills. Just added a webcam to their site. At 1000 AM Pacific, there will be some races starting here.

It's A True Story I Just Made Up...Honestly!
I watched a program on Antartica last night and this dood said "Do you wqnna see how cold it is?" so he took the reporter to his bedroom, pulled back the layers of bedsheets and blankets, peeled off of a sheet a brown goo then threw it in his woodstove, and in 3 seconds you heard a... FART!

Anyways, up there sometimes they leave their cars (mostly pick-ups or SUV's) running all night, if they're not equipped with a block heater.

Sick Of The Coooold....
It's been on average, -22C (-8F) and with a wind chill of -37C (-35F) this whole 2 weeks. I'm sick of it....I hope Canada invades Mexico, and turn them into the 11th province...that way I can move down there, and still be a Canadian citizen.
