“Hey. Looking for new trails in Arkansas. You ever hiked the Butterfield or Wedington trails up by Fayetteville?”

“yes okie, i have hiked both. let me qualify that. we did the butterfield twice back when i was but a lad in boy scouts. i lived here all through grade school and into jr high, before i moved to tula for my highschool years. i honestly don't remember much detail about the trail because i'm old a senile now. but i do remember i liked it alot. there's some awesome views and lots of cool spots and even caves. one time we hiked it, lee creek was RAGING, and we camped pretty close to it, maybe 200-300 feet away. it was so loud, i was amazed. i've played around in the weddington trail much more recently. i'm referring to the one that starts from the trailhead just across the HWY from the lake. i go past there several times a week for work and have stopped and hiked in prolly around 3 miles. very cool. there are alot of pine trees and it goes all the way to the illinois river. there are also a couple of spots that cross a road back in a ways and i've parked there and hiked in a mile or two. i'd love to do the whole trail and camp by the river sometime. lemme know when your going, maybe we can join ya. i'd reccomend the weddington trail of the two. i have tim ernst's description of both , from his book "arkansas hiking trails" if you'd like them. that's a good book to have. it has lots of trails in it.

“I will. I've done one small part of the OHT from Morgan Mt. to Harrod's Creek and another around Hurricane Creek by Haw Falls. Very nice. As it takes dynamite to get my brothers off their heinies to go hiking I'm alway looking for a hiking partner.”

moz, dam dood, i gotta coach 2 basketball teams on saturday. i'd love to do that hike again. watch out, they closed arkansas cave yearround now...forever...and remember they get more accident calls for indian creek than anywhere on the whole buffalo river so be careful! who all's goin mozie?
