“A guy sold me a vehicle 5 ½ years ago with about 50,000 miles rolled off the odometer. It’s a long story but I became suspicious about the mileage but when I went back to him he wouldn’t give my money back. I told him if I confirmed my suspicions I would get a lawyer and call the cops. The prosecutor’s office initially said that my case was weak. Thanks to a dedicated detective, it was eventually discovered that he was head of a ring that sold ~1,500 cars this way, earning over $1,300,000.

He was sentenced last week to four years in state prison.
