I had started a thread where I was looking for socks for my Dad (big feet). It appears that my thread bit the dust in the Great Hard Drive Crash of 2003.

Ewker had posted a phone number for a store in Tennessee that he shops at for his son. I called them and ordered the Champion CoolMax crew socks in XL, sent to me so I could see the quality. They were very nice, and soft too. Good for tennis, golf, basketball, etc. My Dad gave me the thumbs up that they fit and he likes them. The price was so good ($2/pr) that I will probably order all my family's socks from this store from now on. Thanks Ewker!

P.S. to repeat the phone number, it is 423-337-9203.

Lyndy, I picked up some Wilson CoolMax crew socks at Wal-Mart, a package of 2 for about 3.75. I wear a size twelve and they fit just fine.

I haven't seen Wilson brands anywhere around here. My Dad wears a size 14 but most XL socks are too small for him. The socks at my WalMart for ladies stink. I normally drive over 30 min. to Target to buy socks for my girls (where do the socks disappear to?) It is weird, but the WalMarts in NJ don't seem to have as good stuff as other WalMarts that I have been to.

Coleman Exponet is making some really nice socks. They come in XL sizes too. I bought some Exponet Merino Wool socks that are very nice! I picked up 4 pair for $24.00
at our local Big5 sporting goods.
The Merino Wool socks I bought from REI were $9 a pair.

LyndyS, glad that the store was able to help you out. Whenever I am I am in that area I always stop by. They have good prices on socks for bping also. This company mskes socks for quite a few big name companies. The socks they sell in their outlet are seconds but I haven't had any problems with them.

Why do I have the sudden memory of a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert?

Thanks for the resource! Sauron wears size 14s and I've been looking for a place to get hiking socks for him.
