CALIFORNIA Auburn State Recreation Area
Well I had a blast! I stuffed my friend and a couple of water bottles into the car. Right away at the end of my street a cop pulled me over to tell me I wasn't wearing a seatbelt properly and wanted to make sure I had a licence...blah blah "yes Sir. Yes Sir" blah blah blah...Then I drove up I-80 to Auburn and took Foresthill rd. to explore the area and find some trails.
Well I didn't actually find a trail, but I found a old dirt road that was closed that went down, down, and down some more to lake clementine. On the way down the veiws Sucked. Too many trees but it was still cool. I Found a fossil in a bank cut and there were some fern like moss carpeting the tree trunks that ROCKED! Scattered on the ground were what looked like sprouting avacodo pits- ALL over the place. So I brought one home with me and stuck it in dirt because they ROCKED :) They just seemed amussing to me...I don't know why, maybe it was from seeing the sun first time in weeks? We got kinda silly and began singing- making up tunes as we went along, One we named "The Pee Song." The end of the trail was kinda dissapointing. It just stopped. No more trail to walk. It ended at a bunch of floating pottys at the lake shore painted with the name "S.S. Relief" We laughed so hard some cute guy in a kayak looked at us funny and was ready to leave shore fast to loose the maniacs behind. Anyway there was a tiny little water fall that was pretty, the rocks covered in moss there.
We rested a moment before hurrying back up...and up...and up... Oh yeah how come trails seem to be twice as long going UP then coming down? On the way up I found a pile of bird feathers that ROCKED:). They might of belonged to a Northern Flicker.
Back at the car we toasted with water bottles that were nicly chilled for us in the trunk. We were way thirsty since it had been warmer in the canyon then we had anticipated.
We explored the area by car after that to seek out other trails for next weekend to try untill we had to sing the pee song again....I think I'm hooked! NATURE ROCKS!

CMB...has his first
inductee into the MDK factor cultapalooza. Hikingurl has given herself freely to CMB and is now his supplicant. I just hope he uses some lubricant on his suplicant, and doesn't subject her to some innane lecture on bacon rings and bone crunching sounds.

I hope that the two are happy with each other and pimp each other into mutual extacy and that they get to rock each others rocks off!
