On sale now at REI
I got the medium with the reflective deflector. It also has a reversable lens for either rain OR snowy conditions.

The saleswoman showed me a kewl trick for removing early morning frost without having to wet it first. She was very helpful (tho the same technique was demonstrated in the instructions).

Anyhoo, I sat it on a corner fence post (vertical railroad tie) all night last night and the batteries were still quite strong this morning - 10 hours later! I think that is attributable to the titanium housing as opposed to the old style aluminum.

I got it mostly for canoeing, but at 11 oz., I plan to backpack with it as well.

Any of you have one?
Any recommendations for other uses?

Apparently I'm out of the loop, what is a TerraQuest?

From the name, I would guess it's a device to find the earth.

He must have some real brass ones to leave it out in the frost all night.

The more I read it, the more it sounds like it! LOL!

Duh, how stupid of me! Of course! I have problems with reflectives on mine (original equipment, btw) because I don't have a deflector.

And the batteries last all night. That's a big plus!

I've been outside testing it with the canoe. I think it'll work even better than I hoped.

Just as I got it mounted, it started raining. It does unbelievably well even in the rain. This is probably the best $39.00 I'll spend on gear all year.

I wonder if it would be worth using at either high elevation or sea level (offshore fishing).

My other one would crap-out at 10,000'. Pfffft!

Here's a question: If gojo posts a picture of "it" here, will Matt delete the thread?
