Anyone ever make this hike? “I want info. I hear its a good place to go. If you have ever been there I want your thoughts on the place.” 7:57:59 PM 1/29/03 “Is it the Leavitt Lake off of the Sonora Pass? If not, where is it?” 8:08:12 PM 1/29/03 “sorry I ment to say loch leven lakes.” 8:30:19 PM 1/29/03 Loch Leven Lakes “It is located near Donner Summit on I-80, Between Reno and Sacramento. The Big Bend exit is probably the best exit to use. At the moment, it is pretty well snow covered due to its elevation in the Sierras. It is a good hike to three really beautiful lakes. It is about 4 miles or so to the furthest lake in with moderate elevation gains. If you were looking for a snow shoe trip, this would be a good one. The trip is detailed very well in the Tahoe Sierra guide book out from Wilderness Press.” 8:52:47 PM 1/29/03 “thanks i'll look into it” 8:53:51 PM 1/29/03 “Keep in mind, due to their easy accessibility, the lakes can get a bit crowded during the summer months.” 8:58:38 PM 1/29/03 “i hear the evening fishing can be great” 9:17:59 PM 1/29/03 “There's a Loch Leven Lake out of Bishop too starting at North Lake. It was my first backpack ever in the early 80s. I got AMS pretty bad.” 9:42:41 PM 1/29/03 Link to Loch Leven on I-80 9:35:05 AM 1/30/03 “I snowshoed it last weekend. Total blast.” 11:02:20 AM 1/30/03 “There's also a Loch Leven Lake in the Wind Rivers. That would be in Wyoming, poop.” 11:11:52 AM 1/30/03 “cool” 5:35:55 PM 1/30/03
