“I'm from southeast missouri...I go pretty much where the wind takes me to backpack and canoe. All the places that you have mentioned have GREAT hiking areas.

In Mo, only an hour away from me, I have the Ozark trail, which is a great hiking trail...lots of road crossing that allows for easy section thru hikes.

Gimme a shout sometime, Would like to get out with some other folks...cause the ones that I have been going with are a strange bunch...Watch out for the Lord of the Bacon Ring...he's a really dangerous person...well actually more derranged than truely dangerous.

“We are from Paducah, KY and are new to backpacking. We are going to go on the LBL trip(our first backpacking trip), it is only 40 mins from us so we are going up that Friday night. Stikmon, have you ever been to the following places: Rolla, Current River or Eleven Point? My brother-in-law is moving to Rolla and we have heard there is good backpacking and fly-fishing there, do you know anything about that?”

hiked the OT section of the 11 points...was supposed to canoe it last may, but there were torrential rains that shut the river down, so went to the swollen buffalo river and suffered great gear losses on that trip, but anyway...the 11 points is great...did an 9 mile canoe section on the current this past sept...very cool river...all spring fed, so the water is blue! its an awsome place...

We can talk in LBL...look forward to meeting you. Ducttape and I should be arriving @ 10pm and meet up with the legendary walkindude and the other members of the MDK clan.
