Glasses or contacts

“What does that title thread say?”

“I think I'm going to talk to my eye doctor about that lasik surgery. I'm in debt as it so what's a few more $$$.”

“I'm like you, been wearing glasses since elementary school. Just recently(the last year or so)got contacts, but because I'm getting older and my job(work on the computer all day), I can't wear them all day. I've gotten to the progressive lenses stage :(

Anyway, what I'm saying is that both work for different reasons. Really about the only time I wear my contacts is for skiing. The fogging of both the glasses and the goggles became a pain in the a$$. I might wear them biking sometimes, but found sunglasses fall in the same catorgory as reg. glasses..ie foggy & sweaty.

I also had a hard time at first putting the contacts in(poking myself in the eye), it takes practice and patience getting them in. Now, on the most part can get them in pretty good. If you get them try putting them in, in enough time for whatever your doing, rushing can be frustrating. They are worth it for skiing though(downhill).

Lasik surgery...if your a canidate...I may not be. Some are...tell you the truth, I'd be a little afraid...these are my eyes your talkin about. 'till they say 100% proven not dangerous, I'm not even going there...so I'm a dork for wearing glasses...rather be a seeing dork, than not seeing. That's my opinion for what it's worth.”

Skeetah - I've got progressive lenses as well, so maybe the lasik option is out. I'll ask anyway.”

Seriously though, I don't think I realised you wore glasses until I saw you without them and noticed how nice your eyes are.

I hated wearing glasses as a kid and was a total brat about it. Even broke 'em once during a temper tantrum.”

“And Yes, I wish I had a dollar for every guy who told me I look better with contacts!

I kind of like the glasses though. People can't really see your eyes as well, and in meetings you can pretend like you're not sleeping. You have to make more eye contact without glasses.”

“Well...as I said before I do use both. Its' just that people are so used to seeing me with glasses and I'm used to them too, that it doesn't bother me to HAVE to wear them. I can go either way, it's just that I also can't read so well with my contacts in....funny I never used to have that much of a problem before.....ummmm

Pensy, I'm not really sure that the progressive is such a problem with the lasik as my eye doctor told me I also have astigmatism....oh well, it doesn't bother me to have to wear glasses. I do like to wear the contacts sometimes though too, that way I can wear regular sunglasses.”
