A day with Gemini

“Now let me tell you what if you want to hike with someone that is fun and has plenty of energy talk to Gemini.. she is at my house 45 mins early but waits till I come outsite and then we are off to Linville gorge area in NC .. They got six inches of snow and its around 16 degrees when we arrive at 10am...but I talk her into parking at the start of the road and we hike to the trail head. She swear I am a chicken until we start walking the road... ok it's iced and there are many ups and downs for a car to go on with ice on the road and she agrees that we picked the best way to go..on foot. We get to the cabin trail head and she is so excited... ok folks its all downhill from here...literally...3/4 of a mile straight down..ok I am a little shakey legged so she gives me one of her hiking poles as I have only one...what a friend!!! (of course she did pick this trail..)lol Well we make it down and she wants to go furthur but I persuade her to go back up the 3/4 mile to the road and then walk to the Babel tower trail...great trail still covered in more snow than the previous trail but still less strenous mostly downhill at a small grade... we hike 1.3 to the end..where there is a great tower of rocks..then hike back..well on the way in I slip on a rock and bust my butt! Got a nice purple bruise the size of that rock too...but now Gemini says I am an official TT wounded.. I know she could have hiked faster but she was a great partner waiting on her much slower friend. We hiked back to the car and left for home at 6pm..I couldn't think of a better person to spend the day with!! Thanks Gemini!!”

“I had a great time wanted to share... yeah I agree Dirty got to get better gear if I am going to be out in more winter weather..I loved it even though I got snow down in my waterproof boots and had wet socks in the end..it was all worth it!”
