Hi guys!

After a highly successful dayhike on Feb. 8 - in which we bagged another SE Michigan peak (Mt. Omich) - we are gearing up for our March dayhike. Once again, we are starting at 10AM Eastern/9AM Central. Date: March 8.

I figure we should open the floor for suggestions. I've had my eye on Pontiac Lake SRA for a bit. And Indian Springs Metropark is also there. Those would be new locations for me. Of course, I also know of a good hike through the horse trails at Pinckney Rec. Area. Any thoughts?

I'll hike anywhere...
I've been to Pontiac Lake Rec once for hiking. Lots of trails. I'd like to explore it some more.

However, Indian Springs and Pickney are great, too!

Hey wolfeyes!

We can always get some midweek hiking going. It doesn't really get dark until 6:30 now - 70 minutes of daylight will be added to the day in Feb. - and we all have headlamps. I think we all know Island Lake pretty well. We could nighthike a 5 or 6 mile loop after work sometime if people are interested.

Also, Energizer now sells an LED headlamp for $9.95.

Anyway...

I will be there this time. No more sore legs. I wish I'd gone yesterday...

Hey Reformed Lurker!
Your idea of a night-hike sounds cool to me. I work the afternoon shift but am off two days during the week most times. Very few weekends off this year so all my trips will be done pretty much solo unless a miracle happens. Otherwise, keep me posted cause I sure would like to night hike. Anytime...

I'm in.
Isn't March 8th the RRG hike? I know Sass and Tara and Dhutch will be gone.

RL, now you're reporting times in the Central time zone? You are so head-over-heels! :)

Well, do people want to move it to Sunday, March 2nd? JenniB from backpacker.com can't ever make Saturday hikes. Maybe we can adjust the schedule this once.
