“I am not going to be able to make it either. I have to get everything ready to go file taxes.”

“I hate to bring this up.. but is there anyway we could meet up earlier than 10? I have 2 things that I want to do Saturday and one includes a trip to Tuscaloosa. I really want to do both of them and if we can meet a little earlier I will be able to. If we can't since the trip is already set, I totally understand.”

“What time are you thinking, Miss Opie? I don't think there's anybody coming in from out of town now.”

“How long will the hike be?”

“I'm guessing anywhere from 3.5 to 5 hours...it's about 7 miles.”

“Is 8 too early for you guys?”

“It's not too early for me, but everyone who was planning to come has to pipe in and agree or the time can't be changed...okay?”

“Don't make fun of me, but this is what I want to do..

my friend wants me to go with her to have our pictures made and it is from 2-4 tomorrow.

If 8 is out of the question.. I completely understand. I'm not a morning person!”

“oh definately.. I'm not trying to change anything w/out everyone agreeing.”

“hmmm...well, depending on how fast we go you might make it.

Tell you what, if the time can't be changed, we can shorten the hike up some when we get to the trailhead, if everyone agrees. I can easily cut some miles off this hike and still see the Stone Cuts.”

“I don't want the trip to be cut short because of me. I'm looking forward to getting out, I've been wanting to go somewhere for a while. If everyone else doesn't want to meet early, that's ok. It's not going to kill me not to go, my friend just wants me to go with her.”

“OK, well we'll see what happens then...”

“what time do we need to make a final decision? How late will you be up bit?”

“pretty late, probably 11:00 or so.”

“8:00 is fine with me...Mother Goose probably wasn't going to go anyway.”

“OK, if MDS pops up I guess it's on.”

“MDS must not be home, he's not even on the SIMS.”

“I'm glad there is a 0% chance of rain tomorrow. OPIE has my rain gear at his house.”

“lol...yes that is good. I have my wife's Marmot around here somewhere, do you want me to bring it just in case?”

“Just got back from this dayhike. Had a great time with MDSHiker, Father Goose, and Miss Opie. It was a little muddier than any of us expected, but it was a great hike.

Hoping I didn't bore you all too much talking about space history, lol...”

“glad that all returned safely. I am wanting to get to hike in that area this spring. Are there good looking wildflowers?”

“There's a wildflower in New Yawk...or is that a mapleleaf? I don't know if it's good-looking. No flowers on Monte Sano yet.”

“I am just guessing that the flower in New yawk blooms in the spring time. So when is it spring time there. Thanks for being honest about the looks.”

“I had a great time! I hate that I didn't get to finish the trip out. Oh and guess what? All that mud came out of my pants! The kool-aid stains too!”

“Oh and go to the Bachelor thread and you can see my picture!”

“You mean you got those white pants clean? What did you use, sodium hydroxide???”

“nope, just plain old shout. the stain set on them for a while too.. i didn't put the stain removal on them until last night.”

“The Stone Cuts, and Lunch Rock. Oh, and a lot more mud. It was fun. We'll have to go again sometime so you can see all that stuff.

Go getcha some gaiters...”

“Yeah I definately want to go back. I need to work my knee out though. It went numb on my hike back to the car. It was stiff all day long yesterday. The superfeet didn't help!”

“and yes bitpusher, gaiters will definately be my next purchase. Tents and trails have some mtn hardware ones for a decent price. I like those designed for women on the campmor site since I have small legs.”

“We can take a shorter route next time, or one that goes to the Stone Cuts first, then on other trails. I've done all sorts of routes through that area.”
