“That would be interesting. Tony is a strong character, and definitely holds a good supporting role. Can he hold the show together without Keifer? Maybe not. It's possible, but I think they would have to inject either a new face that would be somewhat compelling to the viewers or recruit a semi-famous actor with some mass appeal that may be able to take some of the attention away from the loss of Bauer's character. It may just work if they do it right, simply because the old, invincible, Jack Bauer comes-back-and-kicks-ass thing could wear a bit thin after too much repitition...”

So, Palmer helped with the scheme (along with Michelle and Tony) to fake his death, calling off the dogs. he was given a cell phone and a new identity and walked off into the proverbial sunset. So, now, it has to pick up from there...”
