Which one are you and how do you justify it? Does it carry over to your backpacking?

I've become sort of a reformed 'Oscar' over the years, but never quite made it to the 'Felix' stage. Plus, can't keep up with making our house clean with the two kids reversing everything you do.

I'm kinda' both. I don't know if it carries over to my backpacking. I didn't know enough about it to be a slob or neat freak about it. I was just trying to learn.

I pack perfectly but when I get to camp, it all comes out. I try to keep it in a pile.

Right. Can't really apply that question to backpacking at this stage either.

I'm in between. Have days where you can eat of the floor, then I have days my house looks like crab. (at least I think so). I do have a friend that puts her food in alphabetial order. now that's sick! LOL

I'm a slob at home (good thing I live alone). Everytime I take one of those right/left brain tests, I'm always bigtime to the right. But I'm usually quite careful when packing, and know where I put everything. Can't say that it carries over.

backpacking, i'm a slob.

otherwise, i'm pretty neat. i used to be the worst slob ever, though. now i never let the dishes sit in the sink, and i do laundry all the time. however, i will let the trash sit there for ever and ever, until it's taking over the kitchen, and until Tarpy figures out that he's taking it out. LOL!

I'm a down the middle at home. Love it neat but spend enough of my extra time recreating so that I'm definitely not a freak about it.

When I pack my gear it's organized but I'm with roseymonster when it comes to camp. Every morning I have to reorganize.

Slob at home, although I wish I was a neatnik cause the mess drives me nuts. However I can never find anything once the house is all picked up. Heck, I can't find anything anyway...I should just sell my house and build a new one...

Backpacking I know everything I've got in my pack and where it all is. One of the things that attracts me to backpacking is that I can only bring so much and I have to do with that. I should apply it to my life, lol.
Course once I get where I'm going I take everything out of my pack and make a big mess. :)

Twig, you really should try to apply that to your life. My best friend, did that one summer. She reduced all her belongings to a trunk and moved into a TeePee. I got alot of her stuff, that was cool.

I'm a bit ('A bit???'-Mother Goose) of a slob at home but I am absolutely meticulous when backpacking. All my gear is organized in my pack in it's own stuff sack.

I would love to be neat and organized..(I am not my mother, she alphabetizes her spices and canned food..everything is in a bin and is labeled) I can't be bothered. I know life moves smoother when I'm organized but for now I'm living in controlled chaos!

Lifelong Slob. I tend to organize my backpacking stuff on trips & I wouldn't dream of littering, but I'm a slob. I do all my own building, elec, plumbing, ceramic tile, hardwood flooring, roofing, wallpapering, painting & mechanics but hate cleaning up afterwards.

I'am neat and organized. My wife on the other hand is a complete slob.

I know where everything of mine is at all times. She is always losing things.

She is a procrastinator. I'm always punctial.

She loves animals. I'am a hunter.

She likes MTV. I like the Discovery channel.

She likes Barbara Streisand. I like Rush Limbaugh.

She has big boobs. I'am a man.

I guess I am neat freak.

When I put up my tent I want every line straight and every guy line in a precise row. If I have to grade the land or hack a few trees, no problem.

Neat.
I even color code my scrubs at work. Blue for monday, olive drab for tuesday, misty blue for wednesday, purple for thursday...etc. Or would that be anal retentive? I can't tell anymore. haha :)

At work I am fanatical about my van. I keep all of my tools organized (one pouch for daily use, another for seldom used tools, and a tool box for the oddball stuff) All of the bins (50+) that hold the fittings and plugs, switches etc...are neatly organized in rows (setup so they dont tumble and shift while driving) and are labled with the contents. My wire is organized by color and size, plus all of my high end tools are lableed with name etc...I clean my van 2x weekly and am crsuhed if I cannot wash it weekly. The mechanics at work call me " Joe Clean".

At home I have good days and bad, we will leave it at that.

On the trail I am a wreck.

I have what I call a comfortable layer of filth. My dust bunnies I call 'ta-tonka'.

My backpack has a little bit of dirt on/ in it from every place I've hiked. It rarely gets the shake out unless it needs it and has never been thoroughly washed.
