I went into work Monday and found 8 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies that I had ordered in Dec. I had totally forgotten about them. I have been watching what I eat and had lost some weight and now these show up. Luckily I didn't order my favorite cookie the Thin Mints. We take those and throw them in the freezer and use them throughout the yr as toppings on ice cream and other items. My 2nd favorite one is the Samoas and I got 4 boxes of them. So far I have limited myself to 4 cookies yesterday and today. I put all of the boxes in the freezer and that is where (I hope) they stay until summer.

Anyone else go overboard on Girl Scout Cookies

Buddha Bear, are you coming on the Red River Gorge Trip next month, if you are I will gladly bring you some of those peanut butter cookies. Are you talking about the tagalongs or the do-si-dos? I have both unfortunately.

Ewker, I'm not sure what BB is talking about, but I like the chocolate covered "peanut butter patty" type. They're all called different names in different regions. And, I will be at RRG! =)

Free23, same thing happened with me. Its the first year my niece has sold them. My whole family ended up with about 2 dozen, total. (We're a small family!)

The Carmel Delights/Samoas are my FAVORITE! (Think I ordered 3 boxes....)

Ewk, ya gotta lump Girl Scout Cookies right up there with illegal aliens. It's subversive, I tell ya. Might be some kind of Al Qaeda plot.

I ordered three boxes, two thin mints and one shortbread (formerly trefoils).

Has anybody else seen the billboards with the smiling Girl Scouts holding up boxes of cookies with the caption "Resistance is Futile"? I almost wrecked my car when I saw one...

Actually I didn't think that the billboards were appropriate. I don't want to commercialize the girl scouts.

The boy scouts, on the other hand, need a millenium makeover. A red bow tie, I mean REALLY!

Lyndy, contact Maple about buying cookies if they are still available. We haven't seen any girl scouts selling in our area. Those caramel things sound really good. I love caramel. And do they still have those delicious vanilla creme jobbies? Oh, yeah and ask Maple if she wants any of her own. lol
treebeard

2/12/03

Okay, Treebeard! But no they don't have vanilla creme cookies. There are peanut butter chocolate covered patties called Tagalongs, caramel and cookie circles with bits of coconut and chocolate called Samoas, chocolate cookies with macadamia nuts called Aloha Chips, the ubiquitus (sp?) Mint Thins, an oval cookie with milk chocolate on one side called All Abouts, a peanut butter cookie with a peanut butter filling called Do Si Dos and some weird cookie that looks like a vanilla wafer covered with powered sugar, with lemon flavoring, called Ole Ole.

Geobeet, they don't wear red ties at the neck? WHere is my handbook, I could have sworn they were wearing these really dorky looking ties.

girls scout cookies = chemicals that taste good, LOL...

I order a bunch every year. This year I ordered 12 boxes under my name, then the kids wanted to order some...at least my troop will be able to pay me back for all the badges, etc. I've bought!
I don't eat many, I'm not a big cookie fan.

Thank goodness most of the women I work with have aged enough so they don't have school age girls.

I no longer buy crap from my male coworkers.
I've been buying their kids crap for years.
I brought in some stuff for one of my nephews and none of the cheap tightwads would buy from him.

I make a point of telling them that, if they have the nerve to ask me to buy crap to help their kids now.

I agree with Stove....I have bought candy bars, wrapping paper, cookies, popcorn...and when it came time for my kids to support their school with the 'Buy A Yacht, to support the football team" noone would pony up.

Actually my kids are in private school, each year they offer me two choices. Pay "x" number of dollars to a student fund or make the kids sell stuff.

The kidlets are in private school as well, but we don't have that option at our school - only for the beano days. The other private school in town does, but I understand that if they sell, they have to sell enough to earn x number of $$.

The only person in my office who doesn't buy from the fund raisers is my boss.

Right now I'm collecting people's old socks for this project with my Brownies:

Ana's school requires 8 hours of parental involvement, and 2 beano days per kid. There is always something going on that requires $$.

I can't really afford it, but I absolutely love the place. What a difference between this and my son's years at public school.

Girl Scout Cookies are not made from real Girls
The lady I like in the office that I have deferred because I think she smokes, just bought a box of Girl Scout Cookies and brought it over and gave it to me.

I feel like Al Bundy in Married With Children, when he was smiled at by a pretty girl and he said to Peg "She likes me Peg! I think she likes me!"

LOL

Yesterday sucked the big one, today is completely different.
