In the A's game, Justin Duchsdfwerhodhsfhof, or however you spell his name, came in with the bases loaded and the A's up by a run in the 7th. He got an out on the first batter he faced. Unfortunately, it was a fly out to the outfield, so the tying run scored, and he was pinned with a Blown Save. Not to worry, he was the pitcher of record when Mike Piazza hit a homer in the top of the 9th, so he got both a BS and a W.” 10:31:19 AM 4/06/07 “Ahh yes, the A's ... where are they now? The last thing will be to go to a game - they are trying to decide on a date. Guess who is going as a chaperone?” 11:32:14 AM 4/06/07 “I don't know who is going as a chaperone, but I know who is going as an overgrown kid.” 11:37:01 AM 4/06/07 “Brewers have Me excited this year” 11:39:02 AM 4/06/07 “Philly fans were excited too, but then spring training started.” 12:09:00 PM 4/06/07 “My Rockies are off to a good start - won the first series at home! Now, we get to go pay Mr. Maddux a visit in his new home in sunny San Diego.” 12:19:46 PM 4/06/07 “Looks like the Marlins get to have a crack at the team to beat tonight. Guess I'll head on home and stop off at the beer place on the way.” 4:38:53 PM 4/06/07 “12 hits + 3 other baserunners = 1 run + L Something doesn't add up.” 8:59:02 AM 4/07/07 “Looks like the Fish stink worse than the Phutiles.” 9:03:17 AM 4/07/07 The Perfect Diamond 10:59:26 AM 4/08/07 “The team still stinks.” 11:25:23 AM 4/08/07 “Jimmie Rollins got a "fine" reception in New York. Then they cheered when he was retired to start the game.” 12:14:08 PM 4/09/07 “So Geo, how 'bout dem Iggles? When's training camp?” 1:00:38 PM 4/09/07 “My bro tells me it starts about June or July. He's not too sure and he's the resident Iggles fan. I'm the fan of the Team to Beat ... and beat ... and beat ... and beat.” 1:02:19 PM 4/09/07 “We finally get to play today (Indians).” 8:54:12 AM 4/10/07 “Cleveland has definitely had a bizarre opening of the season - i heard they were playing somewhere else today - Milwaukee???? is that right????? Enjoyed the Rockies / Dodgers highlights yesterday!” 8:56:52 AM 4/10/07 “Jeez, Cain gives up one stinkin' hit over 7 innings and loses 1-0!” 11:01:05 AM 4/10/07 “I hate baseball.” 1:01:13 PM 4/10/07 “Did Josh Beckett ever tie Ichiro up in knots yesterday! Ichiro did everything but hit himself on the head with the bat!” 8:03:10 AM 4/11/07 “Hey, I've done that myself - it hurts!” 8:17:28 AM 4/11/07 “I'm close to declaring fan free agency.” 9:37:18 AM 4/11/07 “ ”10:05:59 AM 4/11/07 “I take back the negative things I've said about the New Yuck Mutts. They proved they have hearts last night, realizing that the Phutiles are struggling and needed a win. They spotted us three runs, which is a most generous gift and proved to be the margin of getting a win, which we will take in this season of less than whelming performance. I hope their generosity continues tonight.” 7:59:46 AM 4/12/07 “Third shutout for the Giants in the first 9 games of the season. Let's see, that calcs out to 54 shutouts this season - woo hoo.” 9:16:52 AM 4/12/07 “The Giants farm team Augusta Greenjackets have now swept the Rome Braves and the Savannah Sand Gnats (Mets) in succession and now stand at 8-0 in the South Atlantic League. The Charleston Riverdogs (Yankees) hit the meatgrinder Friday PM.” 10:31:00 PM 4/12/07 “Oh well, the Mutts went back to being their old stingy selves again. I guess I'll head on down to the basement. Oh wait, I am in the basement. Does the basement have a basement?” 8:24:38 AM 4/13/07 “The Giants went undefeated last night!!!” 9:06:28 AM 4/13/07 “Eat your heart out ChuckD, my Phutiles are going to get to 100 long before your Asters. Jeez, even Jethro lost it last night. When Jethro loses it, you know things are bad. Item: After recording three outs, the umpires had to wave the team off the field and into the dugout. "Oh, we only need three outs???"” 8:45:46 AM 4/18/07 “The bullpen blew a 3-0 lead last night, giving up 5 runs in the 8th. And Benitez didn't even get in on the fun!” 9:35:26 AM 4/18/07 “Hey, that happens to our pen every night.” 2:47:48 PM 4/18/07 “And again (yawn) last night. But Jethro didn't eat any reporters after the game, I don't think.” 7:59:12 AM 4/19/07 “I don't want to alarm anybody, but the Phutiles beat the Gnats today behind Jamie Moyer.” 3:21:45 PM 4/19/07 “Berhle threw a no hitter for the Chi Sox last night. Take that!” 3:32:57 PM 4/19/07 “I already knew that. Jeez, yesterday's news ain't news; it's ancient history!” 3:36:12 PM 4/19/07 “ANd the yankees keep hammerin' away at the tribe..................” 4:25:56 PM 4/19/07 “As the Rockies fall further from 500.... geez, we want our bats back!” 4:31:33 PM 4/19/07 “People might love to hate A-Rod, but he's a freak this year, and I like it!” 9:53:33 PM 4/19/07 “I saw the no-hitter story this morning. But what has the guy done lately?!” 10:01:10 PM 4/19/07 “Strange. Another win for the Giants. Over the Cards. Rich Aurelia now has a 12-game hitting streak. Russ Ortiz just missed throwing a complete game the other night. Barry who?” 10:04:31 PM 4/19/07 “Augusta Greenjackets(Giants) are now leading the South Atlantic League at 13-2. They swept the Rome Braves, the Savannah Sand Gnats(Yankees) and the Charleston Riverdogs(Yankees) before dropping two to the Columbus Catfish (Devil Rays). Catfish end GreenJackets' win streak” 10:20:08 PM 4/19/07 “Sounds like the Giants have some pretty good young 'uns coming up. Of course, they'll find a way to wreck them somehow....” 10:29:30 PM 4/19/07 “Twins are off to a great start and should be in the thick of things. Good ol' small town baseball.” 3:55:23 AM 4/20/07 “Could be.... Brief History: When baseball came back to Augusta in 1989 we were with the Pirates. After going through a couple of owners we wound up in the pocket of newspaper heir Bill Scripps (William H.). Not much changed, but we did get some decent beer in the stadium! From the late 90s we were a Red Sox club until last year when we were purchased by Cal Ripkin Jr's organization and became affiliated with the Giants. They've shaken things up a bit.... redesigning the game programs and the mascot's costume.... but they won the second half of last season and have begun this season right where they left off. No complaints! One pattern I've noticed is that the teams are always pretty hot when a new outfit takes over, then they slowly cool for 3 or 4 years until the next sale, reaffiliation and revamp.” 10:03:52 AM 4/25/07 10:12:34 AM 4/25/07 “I heard this morning on the radio that once the Phillies lose 33 more games they'll become the first team in MLB to lose 10,000 games in total. What a mark of distinction! At least it'll be YEARS before the Rockies can catch up to that record (but they sure do seem to be trying!)” 10:45:53 AM 4/25/07 “The Phillies are the second oldest team in baseball, going back to 1883 as the Phillies, and earlier as the Worchester Brown Stockings. Hint: they stunk as Worchester too.” 12:04:28 PM 4/25/07 “Baseball season has started! Would someone please tell the Cardinals! Arrgghh!” 12:06:57 PM 4/25/07 “Giants win streak is at 6. Not even Benitez has been able to wreck it. Yet.” 1:39:20 PM 4/25/07 “Based on their current record projected out to 33 more losses, the Phillies will hit the magic 10,000th loss on June 26th at home against the Reds. Woo hoo! They should have some kind of promotion, like everyone gets, instead of a big foam finger #1 thing, a big foam "L" or something....” 1:54:46 PM 4/25/07 Jump to Page << prev
