Unfortunately, it was a fly out to the outfield, so the tying run scored, and he was pinned with a Blown Save. Not to worry, he was the pitcher of record when Mike Piazza hit a homer in the top of the 9th, so he got both a BS and a W.”

Brief History:

When baseball came back to Augusta in 1989 we were with the Pirates. After going through a couple of owners we wound up in the pocket of newspaper heir Bill Scripps (William H.). Not much changed, but we did get some decent beer in the stadium!

From the late 90s we were a Red Sox club until last year when we were purchased by Cal Ripkin Jr's organization and became affiliated with the Giants. They've shaken things up a bit.... redesigning the game programs and the mascot's costume.... but they won the second half of last season and have begun this season right where they left off.

No complaints!

One pattern I've noticed is that the teams are always pretty hot when a new outfit takes over, then they slowly cool for 3 or 4 years until the next sale, reaffiliation and revamp.”

“I heard this morning on the radio that once the Phillies lose 33 more games they'll become the first team in MLB to lose 10,000 games in total.
