“I'm not that much for major league baseball anymore, but I remember when my hometown (pop. about 350) had a team, and a pretty good one at that. The players were a diverse mix of Native Americans and us white trash; trying to find sober players for the Sunday game was a real chore. One time the three fattest ladies in town sat together in one section of the grandstand. The whole structure collapsed and all I saw was bloomers and varicose veins. Scarred for life, I was.”
