The little Tigers, Cam's team, won tonight in a nail-biter, 12-11 or something. We had to hustle to finish the whole game before dark, but closed it out when our SS knocked down a hard 2-hopper, made a rare bad throw to first, then our first baseman grabbed the overthrow, fired down to second to get the guy trying to advance. We had good pitching tonight from 3 guys. Cam did a good job at catcher (despite having a painful sore throat - had to come home from school early), but he needs to work on a couple of things. His highlight was getting to 2nd twice on a total of about 10 inches of hits (bunts)!”

“Not too many players came back from the war and picked up where they left off. Ted Williams was the best example of coming back and picking right up. He did it again after the Korean Conflict. Bob Feller reportedly lost something on his fastball, but was still pretty awesome. Many came back only to find they had lost it completely.”
