LMAO @ Dunadan!

Millar just wacked a homer for the Red Sox. It's Boston's stellar pitching staff that will lead to the demise of the Evil Empire this season. Screw dem Yankmees!

Red Sox - what a bunch of dummies - they'd be much better off stuffing bean up their noses

What's a swamp monster doing cheering for a bunch of cream puffs anyway?

I have very good reasons to root for the BoSox. Besides, you're a girl, and can't know anything about baseball, so shut yer piehole!

Anybody follow the games "live" over the internet? It's almost like listening to the radio. I'm watching the BoSox kill the Orioles on ESPN's gamecast now while listening to some tunes. Good stuff.

Did GameCast get a lot better? I tried it a couple of years ago and it was just too damn slow. Plus I thought the bandwidth usage would call unwanted attention to me at work...

Greenberg
Cleveland?! Arrrgh!! It was the Tigers, man! (Heh heh, I had to look it up, though....) Just do a search for him on Yahoo or whatever - interesting stuff. Here's some trivia: He was the first "Hammerin' Hank" (I always thought that nickname belonged only to Aaron), and was born 1/1/11.

Dewd, Maddox started with the Cubbie's so if anything he sold out when he left there to goto Atlanta. And any team owned by Ted Turner is dog Crap if you ask me. Ted Turner Dates or used to date that communist c.u.n.t. traitor! aka Jane Fonda)

I will be happy to see Madddox help get the Cub's to WS....

Wins again for the A's and G's - the Bay Area is doing well so far this season!

More importantly, Game 2 tonight for Cameron. Tonight he gets to don the tools of ignorance for two innings. I think he'll be our first catcher to catch someone stealing this year - stay tuned!

The Red Sox have at least one impediment to a World Series appearance this year (besided the Curse of the Bambino), and that would be in the manager position, despite the fact that they have two of them. Terry Francona is not a motivator, a strategist, or able to handle high-priced talent at the major league level.

But that's okay Boston fans, ... keep on believing whatever you want.

Not that I'd mind seeing the Yanks choke, and even the Sox make it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Snafu, but something will thwart the Cubbies again this year, even it its not somebody snatching an out from some outfielder's glove.

Cubbies and Red Sox - cursed forever. Ya gotta believe (Tugger said it best).

Now if Peter Angelos would just die and let somebody who knows what a baseball looks like take over the Orioles, the American League East could get interesting again. I remember well the years when the Yanks showed up at Memorial Stadium to pitch batting practice to the O's.

Yeah, Angelos even screwed up our (Rochester, voted minor league baseball city USA) Long and great affiliate with the O's!!!
Selig / angelos must die!

Yanks got spanked, but we are talking 3 games into a 162 boys and girl. Besides they loose one more Georgie boy will blow his cork and buy a couple of pitchers!

Lastly I gotta talk about this, WTF is up with johnny Damon's hair!!!

Hank Greenberg played for the Tigers except for his final season, which was with Pittsburgh.
Geobeet

From the looks of his stats, Hank just wasn't the same after the war - looks like he was in military service from '42 into '45.

Yeah, Tigers - 3-0!

The little Tigers, Cam's team, won tonight in a nail-biter, 12-11 or something. We had to hustle to finish the whole game before dark, but closed it out when our SS knocked down a hard 2-hopper, made a rare bad throw to first, then our first baseman grabbed the overthrow, fired down to second to get the guy trying to advance. We had good pitching tonight from 3 guys. Cam did a good job at catcher (despite having a painful sore throat - had to come home from school early), but he needs to work on a couple of things. His highlight was getting to 2nd twice on a total of about 10 inches of hits (bunts)!

Not too many players came back from the war and picked up where they left off. Ted Williams was the best example of coming back and picking right up. He did it again after the Korean Conflict. Bob Feller reportedly lost something on his fastball, but was still pretty awesome. Many came back only to find they had lost it completely.

Phils win and Billy Wagner picks up his first save. Gave up one single and struck out the side throwing nothing but heat. He hit 99, most in the 97-98 range. Okay, he took something off one pitch at 90. I do love the sound of SWOOSH when Billy's throwing. I did feel sorry for one rook though. Poor kid!

Reds game rocked, they won 5-1. Griffey hit a home run on his first bat in the first inning on the second pitch. Had a blast. My tickets were free and 10 rows back behind home plate third base side. Have pictures as I haven't been to a Reds game in years. Stopped at the Hooters near Kings Island on the way home...what is a proper method on writing a trip report to Hooters?

Geo, I saw Wilson hit several balls over the fence during the warm up. He got one RBI which was the only point for Pitt.

I like baseball...but I don't think I could stand sitting through a 15 inning game...3 innings seem to take an hour depending on the game...that's just too much baseball for one sitting...there's only so many $6.50 beers and $4.75 hot dogs I can afford.
