Has anyone heard about the new ultra light tent from Malamutti? Just 3lbs It is a 3 person tent with 65 sq ft and a 15 sqft vestibule. It also has standing head room in the main area, a rear entrance, a covered front porch and satelite tv hook ups.

Ok sorry about this thread but I was getting sick of all of the politics and the sad people that got no valentines cards. Just thought I would try to get your minds back on the theme for this message board. It is a backpacking board right?

I hope that you all do not freeze your A$$ off this weekend!

Personally, I think the ultralight movement was started by Hallmark through one of its corporate subsidiaries with the aid of the republican party.

Therefore: Valentines day sucks.

Feel the same way at times LtHiker. That's when I go to the T.L.B site.

Lots of solid info there. Not knockin T.T., just like to change things up.

There would be no need for those satellite TV hookups if the GOP hadn’t shoved cable deregulation down our throats.

Deregulation, if I recall, was supposed to bring about competition. The only competition is satellite, and cable has all the good channels locked up around here. They raise the rates quite well though, and cutting back on service has been the latest thing in the putsch toward digital cable (pun intended).

Poor LtHiker...it's impossible sometimes to get away from politics on this board...

Does your voice always sound really high when you're in that helium tent?

Did anybody else realize that helium is mined?

Exactly my point, Violin! Now, we have to pay 40 bucks a month to the "free market" just to get our Valentines day specials on the lifetime channel!

Helium mined
They get a substantial amount of helium from New Mexico along with vast quantities of CO2. Straight out of the ground from underground domes under tremendous pressure.

Most of it is used in the production of tents I suppose. I think that Kelty puts it into their jackets.

Go Helium Go!

Can't wait to hear about all of the great trips this weekend. I am stuck at home painting What Fun!
