Here's a guy who admits he can't stay dry in his hammock and doesn't have enough storage for the gear he lugs along calling me inexperienced, LOL

Oh this is rich: I can't stay dry! You don't know me very well. I'll explain it to you as I would a child: neither the junglehammock (at least my old model) nor the hennessey have been completely weathertight in their original, unmodified configuration. The only hammock tent I've seen pull this trick is my tree boat - although I've modified it anyway, just to be sure. And this is where it's laughably obvious you have no clue how inexperienced you're coming across. Over the years, I've spent a good many nights/days in heavy, soaking, hours-long fall/spring downpours. I've also been through heavy thunderstorms with high wind. Neither the junglehammock nor hennessey rainflies kept 100% of the water out. And believe me, I can be humble, but there's no way user error was 100% of the problem! Like I said, if the tent requires perfect set-up/conditions to be water tight, then that's a design flaw. But the real problem with both is sheeting and wicking. I've extensively modified my junglehammock to eliminate this. You can read about that in previous threads on this topic, before you came along to this forum. I haven't bothered to modify my hennessey, because it doesn't see the heavy use that my other hammock tents see.

But you don't have anything of substance to say about any of this because it's painfully obvious how new you are to hammocking. I, on the other hand, have been hammocking for at least 18 years. Before my junglehammock, I was using one of those old WWII cotton canvas jungle hammocks, and before that - net hammocks under a tarp.

But I'm guessing you're the kind of person in an attempt to be trendy and snobbish, bought a hammock only after Hennessey put out a cheap enough one. And now you think this gives you character and makes you an expert on the subject. You probably weren't even aware hammock tents existed before the Hennessey! LOL. But listen. When you spend the night 70' up in a tree, through heavy thunderstorms, then you can talk. Until then, you're a punk.

;-)

Oh, I notice you're too reluctant to say how long you've been hammocking. Very telling!

Don't leave now Father Goose!

I can take you ALL on blindfolded with one arm tied behind my back!

I'm the most experienced hammocker! Neener neener neener!

LOL, Mutt. Sorry, I actually had some work to do. Yes, you are the more experienced hammocker by far. I bought my first one last December. I hope you're just having fun trying to jerk my chain here, otherwise you are just an overbearing, conceited @ss who is not worth having a conversation with. I do hope this is not the case.

Yeah, I enjoy being an overbearing conceited a$$ on this subject, 'cause this is the one gear topic I actually know something about! So that's why I'm picking fights.

I'm just having fun. But I know I can come across too serious when I'm just posturing for the fun of it.
