probably true walkindude - but I love the hum of bees on my rose bushes on a "lazy" summer day. And they are attractive, busy as they are.

Backing is probably the best way to remind me that there is more to life than war and hate. I lets me know that my way of thinking isn't wrong, just maybe it differs from others. We as people need to get in touch with the life part of us and not with the worry that something bad "might" happen. The Trail in simple terms is my church. How much closer can you get before you die?

"I hate it when your taking your time to look at everything or stopping to take pictures and someone who is fast slows down so you can pass them and then they try to make you speed up by walking fast beind you."

walkindude, I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about a person in Tenn Trails who likes to lead death marches and expects everyone else to keep up.

It ain't the hum of bees I dislike. It's when your mauled by the little bastads and are stung several times.

I know what you mean walkindude. I've prolly only been stung once in my life so I don't worry about them. I also don't panic and wave my arms around (that irritates the little buggers) but I might if I'd been stung alot. I pick rose petals alongside them in the summer and they don't bother me.

I was a little nervous on a backpacking trip once when we disturbed a nest of yellow jackets and they chased us down and stung us. (would've been a funny video - running through the woods with full packs, jumping over roots and rocks, hooting with every sting, lol) I got a couple of stings and my friends asked if I was allergic, I said I guess we'd find out since I'd never been stung. :)

I remember treading on a wasps nest when I was about seven, I can still see hundreds of the evil creatures flying out this paper ball at me - I think I got away with being stung about half-a-dozen times - Wasps and bees still kinda freak me out though

I hate wasps and hornets. Bees are alright in my book. They die if they sting you, so you know they won't unless they're rally threatened. I think wasps sting just to be mean.

Power to the bees! We have a honey store by our house and it has about 25 different types of honey, most of it regional. So may different tastes. Ironically, one of the best tasting honeys in my book is from star thistle -- an invasive plants with big nasty thorns that grows EVERYWHERE in CA. But damn, its pollen makes some yummy honey!
