OHT in Arkansas

“I've hiked this four times so far, and it has to be my favorite by a long shot, but I have never hiked it with other OHT members.”

Jeff, I've shaved off another 2.5 oz. Now for a pair of trail shoes to save a few more oz.

“I plan to hike from Ozone to Haw creek Tuesday thru Friday and meet up with the end to end trip on Sat. This rain is giving me the blues! Enough water all ready. lol I hope the weather doesn't kill my yearly B-day hike......... Who's with me?!!!!”

“hell yeah paul! i was talkin to this old timer today...atta farm supply store...and he told me that snow adds nitrogen to the soil in a way that rain just can't do. in other words, we NEED snow and we haven't had much in a while and it's really good for the soil and will help the forest and crops. i think it's good for the rivers too, ...it keeps them running but clear...not a gullywasher where it gets all muddy.....


i got 3 more weeks of basketball games, then i'm hikin till baseball season(i'll be coaching 2 teams again)

“I have heard about snow fall adding nitrogen into the soil. It has something to do with the melting of the snow that doesn't let it escape into the atmosphere but sink into the soil where rain loses it on the fall to the ground. I don't know that for fact though.”

hey bacpac, come out to george's majestic lounge sometime , in fayetteville for the ozark blues society's blues jam night. it's every other thur(1st and 3rd thur of each month, 6:00 to 10:30). lot of old timers there, you'll blend in fine, lol. i'll be the dewd playing a strat. i'll buy ya a beer. jed clampit was ther last night. i love jammin with that old guy! if you're blues-o-phobic i would avoid it, however.....”
