Beware of EBAY
Living in a rural area in a rural State among rural people dictates that I shop online.

I have found that shopping online is good. Browsing online and then placing my order via the phone is better.

Phone orders are shipped faster and you have a name and potential ally to help if any problems arise. Most websites have a phone number. Spend all day surfing their websites and TT, but impress your boss and look important on the phone when placing your order.

I have spent thousands of dollars by typing my credit card number into my computer. Only had a few problems and never got burned.

Buying on EBAY can be tricky. I got burned when I bought a TNF jacket. It was not the model I bid on. I found a tear in a pocket sent it to TNF and was told it was counterfeit. Long story, big hassle, but I got my money back and still have the jacket, but buyer beware on EBAY for Name Brand stuff.

Good to know. I've always been a bit chicken about buying on Ebay. My husband bought some older software on Ebay, and he is still trying to get his money back after several months, because the software never was delivered.

I've bought a few things on Ebay but never really spent much at one time.
Only once did the person get lazy about sending what I bought. It took 3 weeks to get a CD.

Ebay does offer some protection. You have to dig for it.

You can protect yourself if you are the type of person who will not take no for an answer.

Yes, I know that several letters were sent to Ebay with details, etc. I understand that they are supposed to offer some guarantees, but they certainly don't make it easy.

Getting that $200.00 takes some time.

Square Deal provides a record of communication which is what helped me. When they are dumb enough to admit to things on record you can build a case.

Oops.
