Female Hiker in need of a partner.
I'm 28 and single- recently moved to NJ. I am looking for a hiking partner to enhance my backpacking skill. Single and male would be a bonus!

Hi there Neighbor.

Stick with me and stay far far away from the likes of:

Artex
Ice Tea
Violin
Pennsy hiker
Corp. Nasty

And stay really far away from that Masked Marauder Dude. He is Bad news with a capital B.

J/K there are a load of great people in this area to hike with, I have only just mentioned a few. Check out the trips page we always have something going on in the area.

Well this is clearly a troll modeling after Amy G.

If not, well this thread will be fun. Welcome K9hiker.

*The connections of K9hiker and Amy G. Amy's AOL name had "K9_ _ _ _ _ " years ago. 28 is relitivly near her age, and she would know enough about NJ to talk about it since she lives a state away, and travils to campmor often.

Guess I;m barking up the wrong tree......
OK, so it was recommended I post here. Thought maybe some dedicated hiker guy might want to show a young, intelligent, fit and fun woman the ropes. Guess I'll have to search elsewhere......

K9, I think that if you check on the trips page, you may find a hike in your area. I can't think of anyone at this site (well, except maybe bacpac) who would turn you away. The guys are just teasing you.

So k9hiker will "have to search elsewhere" "(Yeah, I hike with my dogs- my pitbull-no joke)"

In your initial post you failed to mention that you were fit, or any details about what hiking experience you had or were looking for; steep, flat, day trips, multi day.

You failed to mention that you hike with your dog or dogs, not everyone is a fan of dogs on the trail.

Your post seemed more appropriate for a personals column than a hiking forum. Single and male being more important than anything to do with the actual hiking.

30 posts later you note that you are "intelligent" and "fun", but you do not recognize posts made in fun at your very sketchy information.

Actually you do not sound like much "fun" to be around. Perhaps if you get off your high horse you may find a lot of people in this area only too willing to help. A lot of them may not qualify for your ISO ad, not being partner of the non-hiking kind. In the last 2 months there have been multiple weekend campouts and day hikes in this area. Most of the posters here are actually hikers not Yentas.

calm down manuka--let's try not to run her off.

i think it's ok for her to look here for people.

who knows Artex may find his soul mate that way.

yes, calm down before you blow a manuka. what is a manuka? a shrub? why is a manuka? manuka sawdust imparts a delicious flavour when used in smoking meats and fish. you Might catch more pit bulls with active manuka honey than with vinegar, ya know.

I used to date a girl whose apartment number was "K-9". How appropriate - she was loyal and obedient. And man... could she lay a lickin' on ya!

Good line about the k9 position, pecky. Ahhhh, the mammories-I-mean memories.

Hey k9hiker.
I hike with my mutts, too.

Hangout at a local AT shelter for a couple days. You should be able to meet a few locals that way.

Hey now don't be so quick to judge. You just need to have a thick skin for all the bull getting flung around here. Ya know Sassafras is right K9 the people here are pretty cool to pack with. I live right over the birdge in PA and there is a large group of people from the PA/NJ area that get together on a regular basis to hike.

We spend a lot time in places like the Catskills, Adirondak's, Harriman ST. park and many sections of the AT. We are always looking for new friends to join us. I gotta tell you I have never been on a trip with these misfits that I really didn't enjoy!

I don't think you need to look elsewhere I think you've come to the right place, just don't play with the fire and get smoke in our eyes.
