If I go real slow
and take time to enjoy the trail, take a side trip here and there, stop when I want to toke a joint and zone out on the trippy views and shiny stars, how long do you think a thru-hike might last at the most? I keep hearing 6 months for slo hiker.

same here, I don't know a lot about it. Just wish I could join. Well maybe one day, when the kids are in college and hubby is too old to realize that I am gone.

I thought 5-6 months was the average. I could be wrong.

At 12 miles/day, it would take 180 days to complete the AT.

If you toke up enough after 6 months you may still be on Springer and think you just reached Katahdin.
